yeah, its nothing new, i think BMW was advertising the technology first, or maybe it was lexus, but its old news
and i believe its only relevant for parallel parking
lexus, if i recall, was the first.

The original joke comes from Yakov Smirnov(Smirnoff? Something like that) And family guy was the one that I remember quoting it. In the episode with big fat Pauly.
Did you read it? It only works if the spot is 6.5feet longer than the car it'self. I regularly parallel park in spaces about 2 feet longer than my car. So for stuff like that, it's useless
Wasn't there a failed car that had a 5th wheel that dropped down in the rear to assist in parallel parking? Can't remember for the life of me what it was called... It was a prototype, and from the 50's (I think that's the decade).. .that's all I can remember
