I would suggest just having the spoiler mounts removed. The cheesy rubber/foam spoiler that comes on those cars hold water and cause the hatch to rust out. My buddy has the same car and his hatch is trashed from the spoiler
How much did you pay that 180sx luc?
Looks really good man.

It's an SR right? Hope it's not a CA and if so I'd trash that motor within .2millisecs

Yeah it's a CA and why would i trash a motor with 30K miles on it? It's an awsome engine, a lot of potential, and comes pre-boosted.
www.drluc.ca
180SX = CA18DET
It's pretty stout out of the box, and is built at least as well as the SR series. Try killing one of those (Stock) and you'll get a surprise, if you crank up the boost and don't spool up fuel delivery, you're stupid... no matter what engine you have..

It has an SR20DET. Basically it's one of the best 4cyl engines never sold Stateside. And if he's lucky, it might even have a limited slip.
Very cool.

No, it's not an SR20DET, its a CA18DET. Silvia S13/S14/S15's had SR20DETs, the 180SX has less displacement, but as I remember (I may be wrong on this, so please correct me if I am) the CA18 is a lighter block.
Either way, it's going to be a fun macheen .

Ah, yes. You'd unfortunately be correct on that one. Sorry, cracked open a bottle Absinthe tonight and I'm a little... off.

Actually Matt, the 180SX was produced alongside the Silva from 89 on, and has always used the same chasis. The CA was in 89-90 and then was switched over to the SR20 in 1991, because is is cheaper to produce and is more powerful in stock form. Even though the displacement changed from 1.8 nto 2.0L the namplate 180SX stayed the same in JP. In europe though it was called a 200SX.
Yes the Ca is lighter (44lbs) than the SR20, and has a cast iron block and a better head design (8vs 4 port)
