What does everyone think of the redesigned Altima.
I am trying to decide between this & the Saturn Aura XR.
The altima is winning at this poing because of the manual option but I do love the Morocco leather in the Aura....

I'll be honest. If I had the money, I would rock that thing as the family car. It's pretty nice.

the new altima looks good, but at certain angles theres just somethin that doesn't look right on it. for the aura, i think it looks awesome all around.

my coworker just bought an 06, and it's NICE...has leather and Nav. if you're looking for a Nissan, right now is the best time to get an 06 since they're trying to get rid of them. you'll get some good deals.

I like the Aura better..

But the rear on the 06' is nasty!! It looks much better with the darker taillights on the SR-R.
The 07 has more HP & 6sp in the reguar SE model.
Luckily we have a CARMAX Nissan dealer here in MD. It helps keep the pricing on them down. You typically get $4000 off the sticker price.

you mean the SE-R? you could always tint them.
furthermore, when price differences of $5k or more are factored in, the 06 looks mighty tasty.

Both are good cars. Altima has always been a good contender in this market. Although Saturn LS was also good, it never got the recognition as it should. Aura looks to be getting it.
This is indeed a tough decision. 3 factors I like that I may lean towards the Altima, one is 4cyl option, a manual and the VQ series V6 is tops in the V6 industry. Any engine you choose, it will haul.
Saturn Aura is a superb vehicle, roomy, quick, well built and stylish. But the fact it has a automatic only losses sooo many points on what could be the winner between these two. If you are looking for efficiency on the Aura wait on the Hybrid version which shares with the Vue Green Line. The XE which carries the 3500 OHV V6 has power down low. The XR version which carries the 3.6L DOHC is livelier on the top-end.
All in all, you got a tough decision on two great cars, with either you choose, you will not loose.

Oh and the 97 Sentra is fugly. The interior is a ton bigger and more practical....but outside is nasty IMO.

I actually test drove the Saturn Aura XR yesterday and I was very impressed. The car is basically a front drive version of the Cadillac CTS.
But there is still 2 monts before the Altima comes out

i like it, better than the current ones out there...
wouldn't they just use the same 6 speed outta the pontiact G6 gtp they are both episilons

The G6 GTP with the 3.6L is AUTO only. 6sp auto with TAPshift, same as in the Aura.
The regular G6 GT with the 3.9L has the 6sp manual option.

The LS was a complete piece of garbage. No style, interior was typical GM garbage, gutless engine, non-inspiring performance. Saturn has never had a good car (untill the current Sky and Aura), GM is finally taking a hint from the FAR superior Japanese and European manufacturers.
I'd definitely go with the Altima.
the 06s are gonna crap compared to the 07s. We should be getting our first 07s and day now. Ill give you a great first hand review lvery soon lol.

Piece of garbage? That's your opinion. No style? That is subjective, personally I thought it looked like a poor mans Saab 9-5, which hark...... it is based out of.
Interior was garbage? Fit and finish was above average for a GM product. Saturn has never had a good car? Damn, are you ever ignorant. I wonder what constitute to a good car to you?
As for gutless engine and non-inspiring performance. Take a look at these performance results from 2000, how many cars in its category could pull off numbers like that in those times? Not many.
Here are two articles I remember. Not to shabby for both.
