Nice car and all, but I still dont understand how the "SS" line of the cobalt can put up 200hp with a 2.0L supercharged engine. Kinda weak if you ask me.

the engine is puting almost 220whp out GM under rated the motor so its not weak. good car you got i have the 2.4 one and that ones pulls nice. you will love the car good luck with it.

^^ I thought that stoped since Toyota got finded with that. Saying that their engines put out more HP than they actually did. Maybe, I'm wrong.

yeah the stage two is only $600, plus install.... and it takes it up 35-40 hp...
as for the comment about it being a weak "SS"... you cant base speed entirely on horsepower. so many other things come into play, for example weight. Just because the monte carlos and camaros holding the SS badge had more whp, doesnt mean they were loads faster. they were bigger and heavier. and besides, quite honestly, i usually only hear that comment from somebody who has a car thats still running 150or so whp and think displaying a conservative "older is better" attitude will beef up their image.. so i dont understand why it really matters.

Gm dyno charts only show max hp at 5600rpms. This car still makes power to its fuel cut at 6500rpms. Most dynos for stock SS\SC range from 205 to 220whp. There are countless dynos on Cobaltss.net.

I really like that car, if I was making more money I'd definitely look into getting one. For some reason I'm really digging them the more I see them. I like the look more than the Neon SRT-4 even though its not as fast stock.

Lets see some daytime pics!

Got it backwards there. Toyota got fined for OVER Rating engines, not under rating them. I haven't heard of any dynoing 220whp bone stock. Maybe 200-210. I would like to know what gear these people are dynoing in since that will affect the hp #s.

And for that supposed hp # they sure do get crappy 1/4 mile times.

the SS gets bad 1/4 times considering the HP because of wheel hop problems. but the Ingalls Stiffy fixes most of that.

Yes its very hard to launch these cars. Can't leave the line at anything over 2000 with out getting wheel hop. 14.1 @100 is the fastest stock time i've seen.
