just bought a super clean 92 eagle talon tsi awd. i been looking at them for a while. it just seems like a much better starting point then the cavy. oh well. this should keep me happy for a year or 2 until i buy a brand new car. sorry i dont have pics yet, ill post them when i get some.

on a side note, im selling everything off the cav, so if anyones interested, check my reg and email me about parts they might want.

Hope you have fun, be prepared for a lot of maintenance, I hear they can have a lot of problems.

Here is a good site for you to go through to find out some exact specs.

Nice buy the 4G63 in the 1G was less prone to crank walk due to having the 6 bolt motor. http://members.shaw.ca/costall/1000Q/answers-makeandmodel.htm

i dont mean to sound like a dick, but...

the 6 bolt engine was changed out in April of 92 for the 7 bolt. so the 1G's do have the 7bolt as well.

and the reason crankwalk happens is because of the crankshaft movement in the later 7bolts, not if u have a 6 or 7 bolt.

It is less likely to happen in a 1g with the 6 bolt then a 3g..

That is what I was trying to say I wasn't saying they do not get crank walk at all. Also learn how to work the quote feature ya bastard

i did my searching. its a 92 with a 6 bolt, and the bigger brakes, and the better rearend. i got lucky, with the find.

i know about the maintenance and problems that could be had. i have a good friend that has had several 500+ hp dsms, so i have some guidance on which way to go with it.

all i can say is make sure you have a 4 bolt rear end, i had a 3 bolt and snaped the axles on it so i put a 4bolt on so that wouldnt happen.

^^ werd.

on my early92, i had the same thing happen. snapped the 3bolt and put on a 4bolt.

6bolt/4bolt combo > all.
