nice, so why is it limited edition?
My friend could better answer that question but i know it has the "release series 2.0" badge that shows it as being #501 of 2600. One big difference is that particular color and the alacantra interior is only available in the limited edition.
whats so "limited edition" about it? it looks just like every other tc out there. and that mesh really cheapens the look of the car
i love the mesh, i think that also comes with the release series, the mesh is something like a 300$ upgrade if u buy it seperatly. its not the cheap @!#$ u can buy on ebay that has to be attached with twisty ties.

I disagree, i like the way it looks.
And that color is damn nice. Overall a nice TC.
Not a fan of those cars at all.. I mean, the interior looks really nice.. But the exterior is so plain looking.. blah.
Red 2005 Saturn Ion-3 Coupe
Black mesh instead. make it look better.
Scion and Mazda are really going gonzo with this "Limited Edition" rot...
Mazda put out about 7 LE's for the 3/6 RX-8s... Totalled about 15000 units for each vehicle. What's so limited about a different paint colour and a few other superficial and minute alterations? Dump a heaver into the TC from the factory, put in full leather seating, low-pro R rated tires on a larger rims and suspension suspension mods... that's Special.

RIP CPL Brian St.Germain (SAINT), Semper Fidelis

And now for something completely different... Click the Minister.
One of my friends just grabbed one of these not too long ago. Nice ride over all, but hers is an auto

Oh well.....once she gets started on the mods, itll be much better to play with.
Seems like TRD is really getting behind these cars as well, and that seems to show some good promise. Lets just hope that if they decide to make a new model in the Scion lineup, it takes after this then the ugly xA or xB.

This limited edition tC features a stainless steel mesh upper and lower front grille and 17-inch alloy wheels that come with a satin metallic finish. The tC's only factory option, front seat-mounted side airbags and front and rear side curtain airbags, is standard equipment on the R.S. 2.0.
Inside, the tC's front and rear seats are trimmed with black Alcantara(R), a suede-like material that provides passengers better friction grip and is more commonly found in luxury or performance vehicles and on aftermarket racing seats. The tC R.S. 2.0 comes standard with a Pioneer Premium AM/FM/CD audio system with iPod connectivity and color-changing LED display.
A Pioneer six-inch subwoofer with 35-watt maximum power complements the upgraded head unit and is tuned specifically for the tC. This compact subwoofer is mounted in the under-floor storage area, keeping it out of sight and leaving the cargo floor clear. This tC also is equipped with XM Satellite Radio and comes with a paid three-month subscription, wherever XM service is available. An individually numbered brushed stainless steel badge completes the uniqueness of this vehicle.

Im w/ vince on this one.
That or even a gunmetal grille. The car looks good though, I love that color. I passed on on the highway the other day.
Have a good one,
Justin
The Release series are basically just a limited run (usually between 2,000 - 3,000) of a Scions that have a custom color and usually are equipped with a lot of options. This one had Side Airbags, and Ipod compatible & XM radio, Pioneer Sub, Alcantara-suede seats.
Yes, the Airbags and radio are factory options, but combined are about $900 alone. Toss in the seats, radio/subs, airbags, and exclusiveness (Read: better/higher resale), and that extra $2,000 is well worth it. Hell, I paid nearly $900 in options (airbags and iPod radio) on my tC. I wish I would have waited for the RS 2.0 to come out.
Not bad looking, thought about getting a tC myself. Though I prefer the red car.
Where are the pics of the front seats?

Seen one at a toyota dealership this weekend. Looks pretty good.
Why do they keep making these special editions with a bunch of add on's, but won't put the s/c on the tc and make it a special performance model?

The TRD S/C is available whenever you buy a tC. However, the second you add it to the build sheet, your $16,300 (MSRP) car becomes a $19,500 car, with no other upgrades. Scion would not likely be able to sell 2,000+ of those models unless they make that particular tC special (i.e. add on all the other TRD parts). As is, the tC with the S/C is in the same price range as SRT-4's, SS's, SI's, and GTI's. Add on the TRD stuff, and you start to compete with WRX's/STI's, Evo's, etc.
I love my tC, but I wouldn't take it over a GTI, STI or Evo.
