If your gonna have wheels like that, you need some big ole slotted crossdrilled rotors with polished calipers and hardware, just to take up the space. Without that, i think they look a little weird. Expensive i'm sure.

I don't think I'd drive with them, unless it is tome sort of new type of material.

Very unique though. Really cool if you want to show off some nice brakes at a show.

wow, that's really cool and original. i dig it actually. i'm dying to know what they're made of. I'm betting that they are custom one-offs though.

I have read posts about those in the past. Some "theories" are...

Photoshopped
Bulletproof glass
Lexan

It has been so long ago, that I can't remember more...

have you guys not seen the billy lane bike? he used a mount on the inner part of the rim, then ran sor of like a ball bearing system on the inside. thus there was no need for a center support. now I really have no idea how they would spin the mother but this has been done before.

This same car has been dicussed on many forums. The general thought is that if it is indeed a photoshop its pretty professional. Everythings perfect. However, there are rumors that it its strickly for show and made of a heat treated lexan.

I dont know what I really think about that.....Big brakes would be a lot better, but as for the clean look of things, it could really have a sweet look to it. Match them to a clear hood, and leave the windows untinted, could set it off nicely. As for what its made of, most likely lexan or some sort of industrial plexiglass. The one thing that would suck about that would be scratches, dont think there is a way to get them off of plastic.

Not that I am a Star Trekie, but you guys might want to look up Transparent Aluminum on Google.....some pretty nifty stuff comes up that could be whats in these (although they'd be insanly expensive and rare right now) but there are some materials that could work for this out right now, and be daily drivable.

Looks good for now, and after the car drives 1 block and stops the wheels become dirty from brake dust.. pretty stupid if you ask me.. allthough I do agree it would be cool if you were trying to show off your brakes at a show or something.
