Alright so here's the issue. One thing that is happening is that the traction control light came on and since then the car won't go over 35 or shift. Just wondering what you guys think might be going on?

my bad I totally forgot. 2001 v6, and the only kind of problems I've had before on it was some ignition problems, but pretty sure that doesn't have anything to do with it. Thanks for the webpage, i just couldn't remember any of them. Any ideas would be appreciated though.

two v6's come in those, though it doesnt really have any relivance, clubgp will laugh at you if you say it's a V6.
odds are it's a tranny problem. it's not a common problem, i havent heard of anyone having this problem, but it could be a shift seliniod. sounds like you have a GT or SE and it's topping out 1st gear. have you tried manual shifting it? pull it down into 1st, drive, then shift it into 2nd. see if that does anything. other than that, dunno what to tell ya other than go to clubgp

it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.

Are you setting an engine light? It sounds like the PCM thinks it's in 1st gear and your running up on the limits in the stock tables. Either the tranny is not telling the PCM when to shift or maybe it's something in the PCM itself. If your a setting an engine light get it scanned and go from there.

even if you're not throwing a SES code, get it scanned. tranny codes dont throw SES codes, but they're still there. and they're only scannable by the dealers, or one of the $3K+ scanners. normal handhelds wont be able to find the tranny codes.
