Okay I am looking to get a new/used car. I have been looking to buy an 03/04 cobra vert. I love the style and power. I have found 2 really good options. The first car '03 grey vert and it is in Houston and the owner is 62yrs old and needs to sell fast. He is asking $26k. The car has 21,000 miles and its all stock (which I want). The second owner has an '03 blue vert asking $23,800 and he is located in Atlanta. His wife drove the car and it has 30,000 miles on it. Now which of the two would you go for? Just so you know I live in Chicago so I would have to fly down and drive back. I was hoping to spend around $24k so I can go up a few thousand (not much). Or what other car would you get with that amount of money? Thanks for reading and the input JBO.

For that amount of money you could get an 05 LS2 GTO and have the same amount of power, not look like every other mustang out there, have a much better quality interior, and you wouldn't be driving a Ford then
Don't get me wrong the 03/04 Cobras are bad ass cars and with simple mods massive amounts of power can be pulled out of them, but I don't like the way it looks or the crappy interior of them. It is all your personal opinion in what you like. Good luck man!
DJTorello, LMR, El Fuego, whatever name he uses is a liar, troll, and fraud
Newbie with a Sunfire that has a different rev limit than the other hundred thousands of Js
His custom made header, AWESOME!!
His custom tubed front Sunfire from the dealer
His other personality stole his identity
Fastest 01 Kia in the world!! 14sec 1/4mile at 118 mph!!!
Look around more. Go to teh ford corral forum. I was looking at 03-04 cobras when I bought my vette a while back, the regular cobras were about 20k if you looked around and waited long enough. Of course, a vert is always gonna cost more. Good choice. You will love the car. If I wanted to only go in a straight line fast, I would have rather bought the cobra.
2004 Cavalier. Razzi. (Sold)
1998 Corvette. Some mods.
1992 Typhoon. Lots of mods.
1994 Civic VX 44MPG
keep looking for a 02 ZL1 camaro
do you plan on modding it for speed? keep in mind...verts are more prone to chassis damage from too much power....so if you plan on modding one for more speed, I'd say get a coupe of some sort, whether it be a GTO or a Cobra. Either make big HP but the GTO makes more power stock, but being that the ford is already blown, it don't take much and you're past the GTO in power. If you just want something to cruise in that has a little giddyup every now and then....just keep huntin for what you got goin on already

Yeah, I really just want to get something that is decent stock. I would like to keep the car stock for the future. I would keep it and hope it would turn into a classic.

the blue looks better
and is significantly less than the other for only 9k more miles
is anything done to the blue one to make you think twice about it?
Well, if you are looking for the classic type, I'd get the most rare color.
Gray 2003 Cobra Vert:
(Assuming that you ment Dark Shadow Grey) 446 were made
(Assuming that you ment Sat. Silver) 81 were made
Black 2003 Cobra Vert:
1697 were made
I would personally try to find the 2003 Vert. Sat. Silver or 2004 Vert. Comp. Orange, there is your classic car in about 10years
Here is where I found my information.

Thanks for the input! The reason I hold back from the blue one is that the seller sounds like he had beat up on it. The 62year old guy has emailed me pictures of every inch of the car and it looks great. Also thanks for the productions numbers. I have some thinking to do.

good point. 2 points for you.
the 03 cobra, is a great car, more power than anyone needs for the street ( honestly), fairly driveable for a high hp car, i think it looks amazing, tons of aftermarket
and the boost guage is addicting
Have you driven one yet? I hear they can be a bit rough on longer rides.

No I have not driven one yet. I rode in one but never took the wheel.

I know the clutch in them is very stiff.
Btw the rarest 05 GTO is this 0.14% 15 Quicksilver MetallicRed A4(tranny) 18" (wheels).
Just a little info.

^^ the clutch is stiff, because it's a very heavy duty clutch so you do jsut roast it, once you get used to it, no problem
the seats are very nice firm seats as they should be for the kind of car it is
i have driven it for 3.5 at a time, and other than using a " touch" more gas than you would expect not much wrong with it
of course if your not always right onto the floor, the gas won't burn as fast

Who could resist smokin the tires on a cobra? 5.7L supercharged, 390hp and that sound of the s/c singing
dan
^^isnt it a 5.4 or something?
their great cars, only thing iv heard bad is the repair price. the fact that its a SC quad cam, labor and parts are really expensive. everthing is squshed in the engine bay.

I prefer the blue color, but get the one that isn't ragged on.
O noes!
They are nice cars, my friend has an 03 and he loves the car. The engine bay is cramped though hell i think you have to pull the motor to install a set of headers on the thing.. His does burn oil though and had been to the dealer a few times for various warranty work.
Yeah I drove to a local dealership and looked under the hood. YEah its tight under there. Im still negotiating with the seller. I will keep everyone posted.

Sorry, I was thinking of the Lightning. My bad!

Don't get me wrong If i could afford it i would most likely get one. With the little amount of money/ mods his best time to date is 11.87 at 118 on nitto dr. Plus the sound of the kenny bell is insane under wot and 21 lbs of boost. hope this link woks
I might have some others if you wanna see them otherwise check out chicago svt.com I think. His name is rd snake.
