Also, $1K Civic + $20K in engine work would walk both for 1/4 and 1/8 the price. What's your point?
An intake is hardly what I'd call modded. Good grief ! Besides which the GT is blown and has multi valves and over head cams where as the Z-06 relies on good old fassioned displacement. Proveing that arguement yet again BTW.

Z06 has an intake and a tune. Give that same stuff to the GT and see. And this proves nothing of any OHV/OHC/Displacement/Forced induction argument.
The Z06 would still win even if it was stock. It has more power and weighs less.

It looked like it said the Vette had an intake tube. Not an intake and tune. But I am at work and the computer is crap so if anyone could please varify this I'd thank you.

Oh damn ! My bad ! It does say intake / tune sorry like I said crappy screen here at work. So the $80,000 car with a $200.00 intake and a couple hundred bucks for tuning can spank a $150,000 + car. And your defending the GT why ? Sure its a beautiful car but come on face facts that the Corvette is a far superior car to the GT. Don't even make me have to start on all the recalls for the GT in its first few weeks of being built !

An intake for the Vette is not $200, and a tune is definitely not just a couple hundred.

I'm defending it because I hate seeing unjust bias towards one car or another like that. Both cars are good, both cars have different markets and excell at different things using different technology.
Now wait...where did I read that post about C6's roofs coming off?
Um the Z-06's roof is perminently attached. I'm not knocking the GT I'm just saying the sun doesn't rise because Ford built the thing. Same for the the Vette. All I'm getting at is bang for the buck you can not beat the Vette.

All I'm getting at is "bang for the buck" is too loose of a term to throw around. Compared to the GT, yes the Corvette is a very nice package. Compared to an Evo, the Corvette's "bang for the buck" is much more diminished.

A Corvette z06 has 505hp and costs around $80k. That equates to 0.0063125hp per dollar.
My Sunfire has 140hp and cost $10,500. That equates to 0.0133333hp per dollar.
Sunfire = better bang for your buck.

I'm sure you could build a Civic that could, for less than the price of a z06. That was my point.
Well considering theres 6 bolts along the rear of the roof panel and 4 more at the front with no latching hardware
then sure if you removed all 10 of the bolts and pushed real hard I suppose the roof panal would pop out. Does this mean its fenders are removable too?
The Z-06's roof is not designed to be removed like a regular Corvette. I read that link and its BS plain and simple!
I just checked the parts catalog and no latching hardware is found on the Z-06 only the regular Vette. No where in any of the GM stuff does it say its removable and when I looked in the car there are no handles or latches. If a Vette lost its top it #1 was NOT a C6 Z-06 and #2 the idiot who owned it didn't lock the panel down.

OH BTW that link links to a Corvette site that shows a pic or a Vette whos roof came apart at the seams not one where the roof simply poped out. Z-06 roofs are not removable.
But hey how about them A arms on those GT's ? Ya know the ones that could snap at any time, the ones that Ford called every single GT owner on the phone and told them to stop driveing the cars at once due to the high risk of the suspension falling off. Or how about the fact that they machined the cranks wrong from the factory makeing the rear main seal unable to seal at all? Or the roof panels not sealing properly allowing the car to flood when it rains? Should I continue?

I have to agree with jackalope.
Just based on looks alone I think the vette looks 100% nicer, and I would buy it just because of looks,even if it had less hp. I just cant stand the looks of the ford.
