the mid 80's hurst olds ??
307 olds powered , hurst lightning rods , 8 1/2" rear end (grand national 1 usually with out the lsd)
nice cars worth some money
307 olds? its not a SBC? if its not a sbc then i kinda dont want it.
its a 442 package
-Borsty
yeah the mid 80's had 307 olds motors in them
but they are the only other car in the mid 80's to come with the 8 1/2" 10 bolt rear
is it the 442 ?? or the H/O ?? there was 2 different packages on the cutlass and the H/O was the better 1 , the 442 was more of a lux-o ride
eh i think its a 442, but if its not a chevy engine i dont want anything to do with it
-Borsty
it's deff not a chevy motor thats for sure. they are a decent car otherwise. is it a t-top car?
2009 Ford Mustang V6
the olds motor isnt hard to take out and swap
since the regular cutlass had the chevy motor , and the trans should have the universal bolt pattern

i already have a car i did that to lol.

then another shouldnt be a problem , LOL
allthough the 307 could be taken out and a 455 droped in its place , for a major sleeper
eh i just wanted a summer DD that i could throw a intake mani carb some fancy chrome vavle covers and some exhast and tool around in when the ta is out of commision or its rainy
not too worried about it

A 455 and a 307 shared the same bell houseing and were the same size externaly so a swap is a very easy task.
Just yank out the 307 and dump in the 455, all the 307 stuff should bolt right up makeing for a nasty sleeper. Just tell everyone its bone stock and even if you pop the hood they'd never know.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
What Year? For the first few years they brought the Hurst option back it had unique shifter available but the later year models didn't. There is a company that makes a few perf parts for the 307ci but I can't think of their name off hand. I'll go thru a few of my car magazines to see if I can find them.
If this helps the 1983 Hurst/Olds was a black top with silver bottom paint job and the 1984 was reversed. That's the only two years of g-body Hurst/Olds. Anything else will be a 442, still very nice cars. Go to oldspower.com or hurstolds.com to find out all you'll need to know.
One day I'll have one... one day!

Hey,
I would NOT EVER own anything with a Chev motor that was not a CHEV!! Buick, Olds, Poncho & Caddy made some awesome motors, alot of times overlooked because it was not a chev mill. The Olds motors ( 455 being my fav. ) made gobs & gobs or torque at real low RPM's. I miss the days of brand originality. I am not knocking chev motors, but the others are worth a look too. And when you smoke someone with one of GM's other motors, it makes it even more special!!
Real Cars ( and Trucks. ) Have 3 Pedals, 2 Shifters, and No Sparkplugs!!
^its not i think its a bad motor its just
-expensive parts
-hard to find parts
-not fimilar with engine
now sbc on the other hand is the exact opposite.

I agree with you on that one. If you want to build an Olds, a copy of Joe mondellos book is a must. Chevs are soo cheap , you can go stroker on a budget and turn some heads!!

the 455 olds can be very quite and tame looking and still produce well over 500 lbft of tq
the stage 1 and 2 GSX's ran extermly close to the LS6 chevelle , and the hemi's
i used the gsx's as reference on what a 455 can do
the olds 455 ran very close with the buick
