Finally I was able to get rid of it and I bought a 06 Ford ranger. I was tired of driving it in DC and I have wanted a truck for a while. Gas milage won't be as good but it will be more useful than the car. I don't miss it one bit, no surprise there. I will still be around, just not as much. I will be selling most of the stuff off of it, let me know if you want anything. Everything will be up on ebay in a couple of weeks or so. I will have some pic's soon.

youd be better off with a 4cyl in a 10 ton turck , if you got the 3.0 , lol
4.0 is a lot better, lot more power and pulls farly hard.

Rosario It was either the ranger or the tacoma. Those are the only 2 I liked. The tacoma would have been more expensive and I wanted to stay domestic.
97Cavie, I did get the 3.0, I didn't want the 4cyl. I would have gotten the 4.0 but it was hard enough finding what options I wanted much less the motor. The 4.0 has 59 more horsepower but, I am not looking to race it or anything so I am not really worried.

a friend of mine had the 3.0 ranger , and hated it with a passion
he ended up trading it in for a full size quad cab fully loaded , and said he is getting twice the milage his 3.0 got
his new 1 has a 5.4 in it
and from others ive talked to your either better with the 4cyl or getting the 4.0
and thread is worthless with out pics , lol
as long as your happy with the ranger its all good
My friend has the 2002 3.0L XL. Other then some odd noises on the pulley. The truck has been rock solid. After all this time, the truck has no rattles too.
With the 3.0L, if you plan on passing somebody on the highway, plan it in advance.

Why not a used 04 Lightning?? Its pretty much the same price. Except you get a way better interior, much much better engine and alot better styling. Just my 2cents ...

Dubduce, a lot of reasons why not an 04 lightning. Insurance, Gas, Room(no super cab), no where near the same price around here, Wouldn't be any better in DC than the cavalier and I would just get myself into trouble with it.

actually i dont think there was a 04 lightning
if i remember right the lightening got droped/changed to the harley trucks with quad cabs
04 was the last year for the lightning. They are nice, just wasn't what I was looking for.

I have two friends that had 04-05 Edge 4.0 both of their trannys went out at around 25,000 miles for some reason.

I don't think so. That is the worst small truck made right now. I have always prefered chevy over ford but there was no contest here.
