hey whats up guys just been looking at different types of cars that i normally wouldn't and the saab 900 se caught my eye. they seem like a nice car. really nice leather interior and the exterior isn't to bad though not the best looking but the thing that i like is the 2.0 turbocharged engine that seems to have allot of potential and after market. so im wondering what do you all think of this car im looking at late 90's 900's so keep that in mind

There nice cars. I ran one on the highway. I was a little disappointed with the turbo tho. I have a 2200 boosting 10psi. I mean it moved good. but i guess i was expecting to be beat ya know. I ended up stopping at the same gas station as the kid. I looked inside. Very nice. plenty of room and good styling. Plus it handles better than any stock J. lol
I would grab one if I had the money. I am sure there is a good Aftermarket support with them as well.
Saab's are awesome really comfortable cars. my mom has a 95, the only downside is the price to fix the damn things. but you run into that, it would be the same if you bought a volvo a vw or anything else the cost to fix them is higher than a J definatly... I'd definatly recomend getting one JUST take it to a shop first and make sure everything mechanical is good first. Mom has something wrong with her clutch that it doesnt grab right when you'r pulling out and have to rev it super high to get it to go without stalling and we definatly cant afford to take it to a damn dealer because no one else around here will touch it.. just something to keep in mind. oh and its not because she cant drive a stick either she's been driven one ever since she started driving lol... I've owned two of them. Both 900 Turbos. Sadly my first one was stolen and my second eventually just got too expensive to maintain. I had built it up a bit, wide body, rims, suspension, turbo and that sort of thing. If you ever have to fix the timing belt or even the serpentine, or any accessories for that matter, good luck. You have to pull the motor because the way the engines are mounted, the belts are at the firewall and the tranny is right behind the radiator. Fast cars, though.

I must say, they are faily decent cars.
They have just a few little problems.
the 900 SE definitely has potential, I've only done a little bit of work to mine but the "staged" tuning I have is supposed to produce 250bhp safely, and upgrading to the mitsubishi td-04 turbo lets you go "stage 5" which is something like 330bhp... not the best car in the world but definitely well rounded.

Have you heard about the Ecco-tec engine found in the turbo late-models? It's actually a Eco-tec with Flex-fuel capability that makes more power on E-85 with less fuel consumption under mid- to high-loads. I would love to put that in my S-10 in place of it's '94 LN2 since not alot of power parts are offered for that engine/platform combo. Nothin' against the LN2, just Popular Hot Rodding said they feel there should be a recall on all S-10s built with them (Supposedly some head gasket leakage & core-plug rust-out problem with poor cooling system maintainance, which I never had.) for a dealer replacement with the Eco-tec, like with the Fieros equipped with the "Fire-prone due to oil starvation caused by excessive engine compartment heat" Iron-duke I-4s with 3.5 quart oiling system capacities with ones of better design. Hmmm... LD9 + Fiero = Cheap Fun. Cool!
