hey whats up guys
as alot of you know ive been looking for a new car and trying to get out of this neon but looks like im stuck with it for the moment so i figuer maybe i should turbo it but im not sure if i should because it has 135k on it all highway miles though, so ive been looking on ebay and one guy has a small kit with the turbo manifold and the turbo and a down pipe for $500 is this a good deal or no... i have no clue.
this is what i figuer i would get this and a cheap intercooler pipe kit, a adjustable FMU, adjustable fuel pressure regulator,in line pump, and some larger injectors from ebay and just push like 6psi on the engine or go intercooled and run 8-10 psi all for like under $1000
what you guys think also did i miss anything??
here is the link
ebay turbo
to me it looks good for the price but i dunno please help me out
thanks
My only question is will the trans hold the added power?
PRND321 Till I DIE
Old Motor: 160whp & 152ft/lbs, 1/4 Mile 15.4 @88.2
M45 + LD9 + 4T40-E, GO GO GO
yeah the engine in these cars are really good and can last a long time if taken care of even if its boosted, they can take around 10psi on stock internals and the tranny can hold up pretty good. but i think Urban is right i might wanna put that money towards something i really want like a GTP instead so i guess im gonna stick this one out and just ride this car to the ground while i save up some more money
thanks guys
do some research on the srt-4 motors and then compare the regular neon to the srt-4
Opening Soon Kustom J's
srt-4 engine is based on the 2.4dohc stratus engine, the differences are that the interials are forged , different compression ratio, and different crank sensor. its not hard to swap in a srt-4 engine into the car theproblem is when you go to wire it all up lol thats why most stick with just a stratus 2.4 engineand boost that instead... also the 2.4dohc is based on the 2.0 dohc so all the engines are in the same family but like i said most stick with the 2.4dohc instead of the 2.4T

SOHCs are for your feet
If you want a nice reliable setup w/o boosting, I'd go for the 2.4 from the Stratus (as you said). There are people running mid-high 14 w/ this swap right out of the box. And you would have torque!
yeah to bad im auto
that means 15's for me if im lucky with the swap
