Q for the Org

On a 2000 Alero, what is GM's corrosion warranty? (in Canada if it's any different than in the US)

I've got perforating rust on the underside of my hood, and I'm starting to get rust stains at the body panel joints, I want the hood to get replaced and I do not want to buy a replacement or get the hood fixed (it's rotten on the underside, trust me).

Anyone got any information?

Well, I seem to remember having a 10 yr warranty on perforating rust on my 2000 GASE and 2003 GAGT.. but I don't have my owner's manual, and my dealership is being pissy with me about this..

Apparently I need to pay them $95 an hour to get them to tell me I need $2500 in work when the car runs just fine (the only code it throws is for ABS, and I already know what the problem with that is, and no, it's not getting fixed, the car is a beater).

Corrosion: Body sheet metal panels are covered against rust for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first

Rust through: Any body sheet metal panel that rusts through (an actual hole in the sheet metal) continues to be covered for up to 6 yrs or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Now I dunno how GM of Canada works.

Meh.. I'm well beyond that point... my car has over 250,000 kms...

I'll go to the junk yard and see if I can fish a decent one out and a Trunk lid w/o a spoiler.

i'm going through this now, it is ultimate gay!
my clear coat is coming off on my rear bumper and i think it should be covered..also..the rust on the underside of my doors is pretty bad, but its not "through" the door, so they won't fix it. GAY!!!!
i don't understand how they can give a mileage value with coverage on paint..it should be straight months/years
