This weeks Automotive News front page story is that GM has officially made the Opel Astra the new Saturn Ion replacement. And that the name Ion may die with the current model. Saturn has applied with the U.S. trademark and patent office to register the name "Astra".
This is awesome news that i'm sure will make Mr. Goodwrench-GT pee his pants
. It looks like the U.S. models will be the 4-door and 2-door Hatchbacks. I'm sure Goodwrench has pics of it, and will kind enough to post them.
