2006 Cobalt LS

Test drove one today. 2006 white with spoiler, automatic, LS, manual locks and windows, no sunroof, 15" steelies, 6 miles on it....the price is $14,390. What ya'll think? I'm having them look for one that has a sunroof and possibly power windows and locks.

cobalts suck, IMO.

you may get better advice as far as getting a good deal is concerned on cobalt.com/org/gov/net/omg123 whatever it is.

Sounds the same as my sisters except she has the Blue Granite Metallic. It's a nice car, fun to drive, a major improvement over her 2002 Cavy, and the interior doesn't seem too cheap to me but others say it is.

I drove one around for a month when my car was in the bodyshop. Interior still looks a bit cheap, but with a missive reduction in squeaks and rattles, and all around less NVH. I actually liked it alot. I found it to be really good on gas, decent power. My big problem with them is the front bumper on the base models is so ugly, the SS looks way better. Plus they are pretty cheap to buy.

For that price, you might as well shell out a few more grand for the SS Supercharged.

I do like them quite a bit. And I have drove an LS and the SS non s/c. I like the intereior and for most of my friends they shouldn't have a problem fitting inside. They aren't all massivley tall. I just really want a powered sunroof. The LT you can get them as an option, but LS you can't if i'm correct. I was building and pricing them on KBB's website and didn't see an option for a sunroof. Maybe i'm blind.

But if insurance works out for it, i'll be selling my car, subs/amp/box, cd player, rims....i might have someone here in my town that would give me a good amount for my car as is. My biggest problem is going to be insurance on it though.

Thanks for the input guys.

I love how everyone talks about how the interrior looks cheap. The car is 14k. That is cheap for a new car! What do you think its going to use the same interrior as a corvette or something?

I use to say screw PW/PL but now that I got my camaro and its all power...I love it. So nice to have. Yea its not a must but why not shell out the extra few hundred for power options and keyless entry. You'll regret it later on.

14k with no power options is a rip
most cars have that as STANDARD eqipment now
do not buy this car for 14k
it is not worth it

But for the same price you can get a base model civic or corolla that has 10x the value, reliability, and is not as cheap looking. I would pay 15k for a new civic or corolla in a heartbeat, I would laugh in your face and tell you where to shove it if you tried to pawn off a cavalier or cobalt for that same price on me.

that does seem a bit much for a car with basically no options. I mean... i got my sunfire with XM, Chrome Rims, Sunroof, dual outet exhaust, and upgraded stereo for 11,500, but with no power stuff (cept the sunroof, GM serioulsy... 1 power window? Why not all of them with the sunroof?) and an 85K mile warranty... but then again we also got one for my brother at the same time so... kinda leaves for better bargaining.

Yea I guess you're right. Personally I would never buy a brand new domestic. I'd try to find one with 15k on it or so. You can usually get them for so much cheaper. The only vehicle I would ever buy brand new is a honda, toyota, or nissan.

I drove my friends 06 civic a couple of days ago.. The dash rattled worse than it did in my J.. So I dunno what's up with that.

SO I got the bad neews and for a 2006 Cobalt LS or SS for that matter, the insurance is goin to be too much. So i'm stuck with the cav, which still ins't that bad, until my surance goes down once I hit 21....ill wait it out another year to get a new vehicle. Thanks for all the help guys.
