Motor Help

Well, my motor is burning some oil now I believe its also leaking a bit. Now should I just rebuild the 350 or should I drop an LT1 in it. I know there's a few other camaro nuts on here.

I've done lots of homework on the swaps. I'm pretty set on an LT1 swap. I just need to find a good motor cheap. It will bolt up to my T-5 tranny. I know it wont be for long but I just need it to last a few months until I can get a hold of a T-56. I'm sure it'll do fine for a few months if I baby it real good. The swap with just a stock motor with run me a high to mid 13 is what people are getting off the swap. I may be pushing mid 13's considering I have the stock posi with .323 gears rather then the usual .289 gears.

Before Jinx or anyone else chimes in...an LS1 is not an option. I goal is 12's. So for the price of an LS1 for just the motor alone I can put an LT1 in running 12's. With the LS1 i'll need mounts, tranny, wiring harness, cross member, computer, most the acessories special brackets to relocate A/C or delete it. Where as if I use the LT1 I just need the engine/computer, and to modify my cross member. I know i'll need the usual motor swap parts also. Like fluids, gaskets, misc parts.

I already know I'm going to go with it I just want to hear anyone elses opinion. See if someone knows something I haven't read or has any other ideas. The only thing I'll do to the motor performance wise before I put it in is a cam. Just because its not going to cost a ton for a cam and it will be soo much easier to put in before I put the motor in. Plugs also if you want to count that =P

I was, you must have missed my post. The reason I was selling it was because I got orders to Germany. The AF will only ship one vehicle for me and I really needed to take my explorer. So I had the camaro up for sell. Before I could sell it my orders got cancelled. So i'm sticking around and my camaro gets to stay.

Bah, I was told .289 I dont really care considering I do not have either. I was lucky enough to get .323 gears.
