Porche Carrera GT ends production

The last unit of the super Porsche sports car, the Carrera GT, leaves the production line on May 6 this year, the car maker announced.

After initially planning to produce only 1,000 units at its Leipzig plant in east Germany, a total of 1,270 Carrera GT's have been built since September 15, 2003.

Every second Carrera GT was exported to the United States, the car maker said.

With a power output of 612 hp and a price of $560,000, the Carrera GT is one of the most expensive and fastest sports cars on the road.
It is driven by a 5.7 litre V10 motor that accelerates from zero to 60 mph in under 4 secs.

Although Porsche managing director Wendelin Wiedeking described the Carrera GT project as a success, a Porsche spokesman in Stuttgart confirmed that a successor model was currently not being planned.

Hmm.. I didn't realize that they were going to limit production on them.
A Carrera GT is the most expensive car I've ever seen in person on the road.
Now that's at 5.7L engine...

Hrmm... I was wondering what I could spend that spare million dollars that I have kicking around loose here on.

I think I'll get 2. One for winter of course.

One of my all time top ten car picks.
I don't think measuring the GT on the strip really gives you the whole picture. It's meant for the open road. Like this...

well my cavy was faster... lol that is one amazing car lol. yes my uncle is very trusting and he is a very nice guy. he is the president of a drug company. only prob was it barely burned out, i dont think the v10 in the back helped with that any. i got yelled at by the priciple for "driving too fast in the parking lot." there was no one there but me and 3 other cars and i didnt think 75 was too bad in an open parking lot.

theres no way that that thing wouldnt burn out lol. you can barely let off the clutch and it wants to just let loose.
