I know you don't know me but from what I've read, you are the VW pro... I have a 2000 Passat V6... headlights were turning cloudy and one of the corner lights decided to leap out of the car going 75 down the highway... we ordered a set of crystal clear headlights and corners and got them today... one of the clear corners was already broken so we have to get new ones anyway but we took a look at the headlights and realized that they are for the Asian Market VW Passat... is there a conversion I can do to get these to work with my model or am I just screwed out of $160... Please help me out if you can! Thanks in advance!

Oh, I also posted on VWVortex as well but just wanted to check with you guys as a second reference! Thanks again

whats do you mean they are "asain market" lights... whats different about them? I believe it 2000 that they did the modle split, so is it the new style or old style. If its the new style are you sure they didn't just send headlights for a W8? the W8 passats have different headlights then all the other ones

this is what it said in the description

"OEM VW Passat replacement parts for China market (left hand drive).
Brand new never been used.
Has dim lights (city lights) function.
OEM item made by Koito.
Light bulbs not included. "

here is a pic

the high beam slot doesn't have a reflector shield in it and the slot for the bulb is a sideways T ( I--) and the low beams have a "City light" just like the golfs do... I'm stumped and I still haven't had any response from the vw forums...

other then the look of them what is actually different?

and going by the headlights you do have the older style so its not W8 lights (HID's)

well, if you look under the low beam, there is a city driving light (like the golfs) and in the high beam, there is no light shield (like there is in the low beam light...) the opening for the bulb itself is a sideways T ( it looks like this I-- ) so the bulbs that we have now, will not work in the high beam spot... didn't know if I could find a bulb to fit it and if I did, would it be outrageously bright? just trying to see if there is an easy way to get them to work... they fit fine but can't hook up the high beams

H1's are usually used for the bettle headlights, make sure the harness you have plugs in to the H1
