Went with her today to get a 2000 Olds Silhouette. Thing has 75k, dealer maintained, the thing is loaded with every option but leather. It was $8750, I told him, knock it down to $8500 and its sold, he said fine and that was it,
This replaces her 1994 Town and Country with 181,000 miles on it. Which still runs good but has a few issues, drivers door wont open at all, coolant and oil leaks, exhaust manifold heat shield broke, needs tune up, and A/C is broke.
So hopefully this is a good van.

Call me crazy, but I actually like MiniVans
I rented one a few months ago, cause i had to haul a bunch of stuff to my new place in VA, and the thing got great gas mileage and ran like a champ
got any pics? any future mods?

whatever happened to badass vans? like the big ones from the 80's. THe kind Mr. T would ride in with the A-team. Now all vans are mini-vans and are pussified. Whats up with that?
I had a V6 Venture van as a rental for a week and loved it.
I like my friend's Honda Odyssey. Man that thing is huge inside and can carry tons of stuff. Plus it's very peppy for a mini-van, a lot more so than I thought it would be.
Sounds like you got a good deal!
We have an 05 Odyssey and love it. Tons of room and is pretty quick for weighing as much as it does. Handles better than my Cavalier did.
Yeah I love vans too. My dad has a 99 dodge ram van 1500 v6. That thing took us to Mex and back with no problems at all. Not fast but not a gas eater either. Btw odysseys are bad i got owned by one on my 2200 cavalier. Hey needs mods!!!

You not the only one. I rented a Venture and Uplander. Both are nice but the Uplanders are much better but if i got good deal on a venture i would take it. That is going to be my next purchase.

Just make sure your mom doesn't get into an accident with it- they tend not to fare well in crashes....
That, and those GM vans really, really, suck to work on...
just pop the hood if you don;t believe me.
If you have to get a Gm minivan, get a Astro.
Hard to kill, easy to drive, and are like tanks in accidents....
and the 4.3 has nice pickup.....
My gf's dad has a 02 Venture Van.. Last year the head gasket blew on it.. GM dealer said it was a common issue with those engines (3400 I think?).. Watch out for that.
Red 2005 Saturn Ion-3 Coupe
Burgundy 2006 Saturn Ion - My winter beater
^^ My brother-in-law works as a GM mechanic at the dealer, he says th same thing.
I double believe it because he replaced the old lady's gasket who lives next door. Also an 02.

for real, i was looking into an 03-05 venture. I may have to think about the 05 Uplander.

its a some what common issue with the 3100 and 3400 , not sure about the 3500 or 3900 , but id guess since they are the same family
it has to do with the intake gaskets being made from hard plastic , and it cracking
