Ok so I'm being deployed as of Monday and when I come back I'll have a fair bit of money in the bank. Now, with this money I have two options:
1. Keep my Malibu and turbocharge the 3.1 which I could do for just a hair over 2000$, including proper fuel mods, DHP for tuning it the right way etc, and make close to 300whp.
2.Sell the Malibu and buy a 2003 GTI which I would mod accordingly.
The malibu has approx. 56k miles on it and is in very good overall mechanical condition. It's also completely paid off and about 75$ cheaper a month on insurance than what the GTI would be.
So my question to everyone: Which should I do? I'm going back and forth in my mind which direction I should go, so I'm looking for others opinions.
GTI imo

Malibu, can always trade it in for the newer SS, or even the G6..

You have something that is paid off, reliable, and with low miles. Might not be the "coolest" thing on the block but it serves its purpose well. Honestly, if I were you, I would stash the money away and keep the Malibu. You will thank us later down the line when you have an even nicer car that an STI. Don't think for now, think for tomorrow.
Keep the Malibu as a DD and buy something else to modify on the side.
Turbocharge that bad boy!
