.. cobalt sc? or base w/GM SC?

ok well I was thinking of getting a car wround the 6k dollar range, but the more I think about it, the more discouraged I feel. so I just decided to get me a brand new car around mid 07 and keep both my cars for now. why wait that long? personal/financial reasons. My mom has excellent credit, and she agreed to buy the car under her name, like fi it was hers, except ill be paying it/driving it. This is great help since insurance is obviously not gonna be high on a 50 + yr old lady with no tickets and perfect credit.

so anyway, now that I sort of explained my situation, I decided I want a cobalt, I would love the ss/sc, but the more money I can save the better. so Im also thinking of just getting a base model cobalt, which I can get sooner, and just buying the gm sc for the 2.2 eco. so here are my questions.

1. does the eco GM SC even fit the cobalt? or is it only for cav/fires?
2. what kidna numbers should I expect to see with this set up? of course, I doubt it would be anywhere close to SS/SC number.
3. is this a smart move? since I really dont need SS appearance package, since Im sure ill get a body kit for it anyway, and wheels.
4. what about the cobalt's resale value, do u guys think its gonna suck as much as the cavs? if thats the case, I can just get me an 05 instead of a brand new one.
5. what would u guys do in my situation?

You should have her co sign for you, that way you can get some credit out of it. My dad co signed for me about 1.5 years ago, after that and getting a couple of credit cards and building my history some, my beacon score is over 700 and I'm 19. My wife which has about the same credit as me and we just got approved for a $200,000 home loan. We will be buying a house before we are 21. Thats what I think you should do. 90% of domestic car's have very poor resale value. If you are interested in that, buy a honda or toyota.

you do have a good point. I didnt think of that, i think ill just do that, since insurance shouldnt be too high on a base model cobalt.

save your money for something other than a updated cavalier.

I'd look into a nice used base model and add the supercharger to it.

the transmission in tea ss/sc is suppose to have stronger parts in it as well. i don't know if they put the piston coolers into tea Cobalt like they did on tea 9-3 turbo.

I would like to know what my color scheme has anything to do with what were talking about? I think 05 mustangs are ugly as hell too, but thats completely off topic.

back on topic, so ur telling me that the eco SC wont work on a cobalt?

i dont believe it will, atleast not without some modifications. Id imagine the engine bays are not the same, so the charger might not even fit on it. Also i doubt you can get a reflash for it, since the Cobalt ECU uses drive by wire and alot of other things. SO you will need to tune it yourself. ANd id also expect some other engine differences. Im sure GM covered there backs on this one, i doubt they made it a direct fit from the cavaliers to the coablts, but i could be wrong.

Just buy the SS/SC and save yourself the headaches

I'm pretty sure there's a calibration for Cobalts. I mean we know that SC fit's the Cobalts and if there isn't a calibration HPtuners will be out soon enough for the Delta's.

eh... I dont think I wanna go through, i guess i might as well just get the ss/sc... unless GM came out with an SC for the base model, which could be instaled by GM and financed along with the car. but since thats not the case, ill just buy the SC and get TEH LUBE READY...

ill just wait out till I can save some more money to give a big downpayment on it
