Well... here's the deal. Pulled out the aftermarket cd player and when I put it back in, none of the custer lights work. Everything "works" just fine, but there is no back lighting on the cluster, or on the hvac panel. Does anyone have any idea of what it could be. I checked every fuse and everything looks fine. The cd player even dims whenever you turn on the headlights, but nothing else comes on. I'm lost and it's not my car!? HELP.
Always cut the GREEN wire.

Hmm... I need to get this fixed today. The blubs and everything are fine, and like I said, the cluster works. Theres just no back lighting. All of the warning lights work. And if you turn on the AC or Rear Defroster those little leds come on, but theres no back lighting. Anyone?
i would say you missed a fuse, re check all them, in the sides of the dash and the ones under the hood.
Triple checked... They are all fine. Funny thing is, when I tested the "illumination" wire off of the stock stereo harness, it works when you turn on the headlights.
Oh, and the dome light works.
did you check the fuses with a test light. also check there may be a fuse box under the hood that may contain a fuse for the dash lights.
Yes, I have checked both fuse boxes numerous times and have found nothing.
If its a 99-05 deff check out www.grandamgt.com Im a member there and i am positive the guys there would have alot of information for you. They usually reply quickly. All I can think is fuses, the bulb for the back light- really uncommon, or maby the switch that turns the back lights up and down could be bad, and ive seen just a few of those go bad. good luck
