So I picked up the latest Performance Auto and Sound while I was at Borders today. On the cover was a RHD Cobalt SS. That's right, RHD Cobalt. I can't remember the name of the guy that built it, but it's fricken nuts. Wide bodied, 10" wide rims, full custom interior and exterior, it barely even resembles a Cobalt anymore. He's pushin 18psi on the stock SC with a different pulley, he's got a NX kit, and apparently he's getting ready to install a Hahn prototype turbo kit they're developing for the SS/SC. A twin-charged Cobalt... Fascinating.
Then there was this sick looking VW Golf, with the hatch lopped off and a tonneau in it's place so it looked sort of like the Rabbit reborn. Okay, that's cool and all, but the real surprise is the triple-turbo 6-cylinder that's under the hood. Forget the fact the car - or truck - whatever it is now - looks absolutely gorgeous. Forget the fact the interior is fit for a king. Forget the fact it has one very large and very loud sound system. It has three turbos! Three! Not one, not two, but three! HOLY SH*T!!!

No, it's Keith something. Losier I think. The magazine is in my car I'll have to go get it and see. I think the guy was from Niagara Falls. Anyway, I was just amazed at this car. I wasn't too keen on the interior styling, but it wa amazing craftmanship none the less. Just too "busy" for my tastes.

I seen the car in person last weekend at the SEMA IAS show and I wasn't impressed at all.
God you guys are rediculous. He oviously has some money so he build a nice show car. and if i had the money to do that to a car that wasnt my daily driver i would to. its still a @!#$ GM econo box. its like he hacked up a priceless car or something..

cobalt looks a little rediculous IMO. Waaaaay too much going on... They could have done all the same stuff with all teh same components with better thought out fiberglass enclosures and make it look 80x better.

he wanted to prove you can get good sound out of the stock units, wich i can agree with unless it was on a car this caliber. this is straight up show. not much was left untouched so to keep the stock stero to prove a point seems odd to me. that would be something you do on a car that you are intentionally keeping looking stock. course chances are good is has one of the new processeors on it that cleans up the sound before the amps anyway. its a pretty cool car as far as whats done to it. most people wont like it but then again most people arnt smart enough to realise that it is a strictly show car that is just showing off the excessive side of things. most of these cars you see like this are more for showing off the skills of the builder more then anything.

Actually, he kept the stock source unit because GM runs an LAN system that ties the radio in with the computer. Without using a special adaptor, removing the radio will give the onboard diagnostics a fit.
