My girlfriend and I split up. She has the sunfire but is paying on it. Theres a chance her father will pay it off so theres nothing for her to owe to me or the other option is he pays what the car is worth now and I'd get to keep it. My question is which one should I keep.
2000 Z24 Cavalier, 2.4 150 hp,fully loaded, 54,000 miles, the paint job is ok
2003 Sunfire SE, 2.2 140 hp, its missing cruise,power windows,and remote locks, 27,000 miles, good paint job
Both have sun roofs and CD players.

I'd take the 03 Sunfire. Your water pump is about ready to go out if it hasn't already.
When do they go out? I do have a warranty on the z24 for 2 yrs yet.

go with the 03.. down the road you could supercharge it with the GM M62 kit, as the 00 z24 you will only be able to use the GM m45 kit which has less potential on the 2.4 becuase of the smaller design of the charger
but i would go with the 03 anyways

I'm pretty sure that most (of course not all) go out around 60,000 miles.
i'd go with the 03, but you'd better get the money out of them for it...

I finally actually drove the ecotec today. I was impressed with it. I never drove it before but it seems close to the 2.4. It seems to lack under 4000 rpms though.

both are nice.. Eco fans will tell you to go with the eco, LD9 fans will tell you to go the LD9 route.
