The restyled Altima is one inch shorter in wheelbase and overall length to help differentiate it from the upscale Maxima. The car also gets a fuel-saving continuously variable transmission from the Murano parts bin, tuned for Altima to mimic a six-speed automatic. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 3.5-liter V6 will be offered at launch this fall, followed by a hybrid gasoline-electric by winter 2007.

Hmmmm, i'm on the fence. I like it but it reeks of Maxima styling and I'm also 50/50 on if i like it or not too. I like it though. I find that Nissan is starting to make all their cars look like the 350Z

It looks nice. Any better pictures of the front? That low shot makes it hard to really get an idea of what it looks like. The windows on the sides look very similar to the M35/45 windows.

i like how they say they're trying to differentiate it from the Maxima by shortening it, but then they make it look almost exactly the same. yay for originality

Ehh, don't like the tails.

And it is sitting in 4x4 mode.

Nothing special about the car.
