The 300ci I6, descendant of the 170, 200, and 250 engines. With 7 bolt main caps and a good natural balance, the entire family of engines is known for their reliability and ability to create power and run at high rpms (compared to the V8's that were used at the same times as the I6's). 300's were used in a lot of trucks in the 80's and maybe early 90's, not sure about going into any cars, but I'm pretty sure they weren't.

I haven't heard a 300ci specifically with exhaust, but I know that a header/exhaust sounds nice on first generation Mustangs with 170/200/250's. Just don't go to big, and no "tips". Normal header/muffler/piping and it'll be all good.

We have those things on the TUGS at my work.

They sound like ass. All it is is a straight pipe with no cat and a muffler at the end. It sounds like a garbled drug addict.
