If you can....get a 2001 or 2002. Those years had the LS6 intake. Most of the bugs worked out as well.

Weaknesses...
Interior sucks. I don't care, I knew that going in.
Rear end sucks. DR's is pushing it on some of them.
Burns oil. This isn't a big deal really. Just keep a bit of an eye on it. It burns some because of the tollerances with the aluminum block. Heat expands aluminum different than iron.
Piston slap. Cold start issue. Directly related to oil consumption. Basicly when the motor is cold, the piston/piston ring have a little play. Once warm and expanded, it goes away. Again, as long as it isn't loud and it goes away, nothing to worry about.

It isn't much if it does burn oil. 1/2 quart every 2000 maybe.

Mine never did either.

I've heard plenty of people getting 30mpg on the hwy... but they all had the 6-speed manual. Not sure what the auto gets on the hwy.

My 6-spd gets 21mpg highway with the cruise set at 75mph. It's rated at 28mpg, but I have never come close to that.

250mi / tank
400km per 50L

Clogged Cats.
Running Rich.
She only gets fed 94.

It gets better gas milage then my 2nd gen V6 Winter Beater.

Expecting *much* better numbers once the headers/exhaust go on, and she gets tuned.

Hit up th newbie forums in LS1tech.

They have a lot of sticky info that is PRICELESS for potential LS1 buyers.

I got as high as 41 mpgs in the insta-gas mileage display in 6th at around 39mph.
Flooring it and raceing it I will see 6-11mpgs. Around the city I see 18-26mpgs.
And no oil consumption here, and I use 10-40w grade.

But wait.... I own a LS6, so do I count on these questions....

I'm sorry but I see that as the stupidest comment ever considering that you have that queer bait girls car in your sig.

BTW I am seriously sorry but I have severe brand loyalty issues.
