So yea I pulled the motor/trans. today with no problems. 3 hours and it was done not really trying. I'll explain the pics as I go so make sure to read the notes.
No motor. The car sits up in the front like a 4x4 haha.
The motor sitting on the ground/cradle until I get the bellhousing off so I can bolt it to the stand thing so I can rotate it. The blower looks big
.
First mistake I made today. I tried draining the oil...... Yea it filled up my big oil pan thing and overflowed it so I had to grab a trashcan to dump the rest in. This is the result. It's all oil and coolant.... No metal shavings though!
Oh there's the metal.
More pieces.... Why is there a wrist pin and several rings?
This is looking up from the bottom of the motor into the combustion chamber. Yep that's my head you can see. I dismantled NOTHING inside to see my head from the bottom. This could be bad....
I then found my piston, in two pieces along with part of the connecting rod. The rod is sheared clean off at the crank so yea i've officially lost ~5" of connecting rod somewhere. I can't find it in the motor. I think it's inside of a coolant passage or something. I dunno.
Yep pretty destroyed. Check out the rod and how the bottom of the piston is just gone haha.
Yea FU Ford!
Damage so far: 1 piston is completely destroyed, 1 connecting rod is MIA, 1 wrist pin is broken in two, crank is chipped off in many places, parts of the actual block is broken off inside, and there is minimal damage to the head that the piston broke inside. I'll know more once I pull the heads off this week.

detonation's a bitch, innit

it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.
ZZP XP cam, 1.6 rockers, 105# springs, speedbuilt FWI, 3.3" modular pulley, TOG headers,
3" exhaust, flomatched injectors

yeah, terminator bottom end and an m112 will clear that right up
on a side note, how much boost were you puttin in?

nice carnage
hot rod mag that ive got has some good motor carnage in it also
Eh, I've seen better. Or is that worse?
O yea, is that an oil fed blower?
You tore that piston a new a-hole. What all do you have planned next?
Have a good one,
Justin
ouch.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.

Don't know quite what you mean.... It's oil cooled yes, but it's not internal like the Prochargers.
I was running 10-12 psi. I think it was a bad tune that popped it.
I was donated a stock shortblock by two of my friends so that is what is going back in for now.

what he is refering to , is does it have the oil from the motor going through it ?
if so you might want to have the blower looked at and cleaned , to make sure nothing got into it , so you dont have a failure with the new motor

either that or 10-12 lbs of boost on a bottom end that wasnt made to take any...
put some dished forged pistons in that and lower compression just a weeeeee bit. then crank the boost up to 15
what else is done to the car, i tried to find your mod list, but no luck.

Eh the stock motor can handle 10-12 psi all day with a safe tune.
No money for a built motor just yet. 19+college+expenses=nothing
My mod list isn't very extensive. It consists of the blower, 42 lb injectors, SCT MAF, colder plugs, a tune, and mufflers.

Not that this is coming from personal experience, *cough*, but remnants of decimated rod bearings can make cool keychains.
how free flowing is the exhaust on those? just a thought, but possibly headers would help, or just ported stockers. i dunno, im use to the world of roots blowers. it's a little different game with them. any idea what your O2's were? oh, and arent you glad ford didnt bother with the knock sensor?

or parts of the rod itself!

My piston/rod damage is going on my desk at work
Yay hole in the cylinder wall!!!!!!!!! This is the best picture I can get of the hole. Deal with it. I can fit my entire hand in it, but yet I have little girly hands so that's not saying much......
How the motor sits right now until this weekend when I can tear back into it. Grr to work and school grrrrrr.

im no expert, but
the 4.6 is known as a boost motor.....
