I call BS on that. Lets see a video of the truck running 10's. Is that a glass fuel filter? That's not even NHRA legal rofl. Neither is the fuel pressure regulator mounted on the fire wall. Whats up with the fuel line running into the cab? I'm guessing it's for the fuel pressure gauge that also isn't NHRA legal. Where's the roll cage? Maybe you meant to say that your g-tech estimated 10's in the 8th mile lol.
Ok I can't tell you the exact specs on the motor, and my friend Gary whom the truck belongs to is at work and is currently living 3 hours from me, however next time i can get him on the phone I will get all the exact spec on the ngine including the full time slips and see if he has a video of the runs. I know he's running 10:1 compression, a huge cam, the valve train is fully built, forged rods, but like I said I don't know the exact specs on everything for you. But I'll get them later, also, he doesn't race on those 20's if thats what you were assuming. He has a set of Weld drag wheels that he runs at the track. OH and where we're from most of the tracks aren't going to be NHRA certified, so he may not have been required to have a cage. Like I said i'll check everything before I post anything for sure, but when i say it ran those times don't doubt me. it's a well built motor. I'm dropping him an email now hopefully I'll have some info by tomorrow for you guys if he emails me back or returns my call tonight.
I didn't think it was running 10's on those wheels, that's why I didn't mention them. There's no freakin way that thing runs 10's. I say high 11's tops. I don't care what the specs are. I want to see a video or it running 10's. Until then, stfu.
Ok and why should I stfu? Honestly I hate arguing on the internet but look, most Chevy crate 350's are rated at LEAST 300hp right out of the crate. Now with a larger cam, increased compression, a 150shot of nitrous....you're looking at well into the 450hp range possibly more. S-10's have a curb weight of 3xxxlbs. If 450-500hp cant push a 3xxxlb car to high 10s then that driver must suck some very large cock honestly. Im not claiming this thing runs deep into the 10s in fact if I recall correctly he told me a 10.88 BUT again I need to wait on confirmation from him. I didn't post these pics or info to start a flame war, I posted them to show a small block V-8 can be put easily into an S-10. I can't see why you're starting a flame war with me. It's not even my Car, honestly, what would I have to gain by lying about it performance? Absoultely nothing, thats what. Ok I'm done arguing now.

^^^ I'm not a fan of the paint scheme but just looking at the truck from the outside you would never expect it to house a LT1. I scrolled down after seeing the first pic and my jaw dropped instantly, probably cuz you dont see those types of swaps where I live.
it can be dont, a friend of mine ran 11.11 with a bone stock internal LT1 with a 75 shot and blew the motor on that run. 11.11 and blew the motor in all one run, now its got an LS1, with a 175 shot and a 6 spd, never been to the track yet. soon i hope.

Actually, of the new season of Trucks! on Spike tv, the new guys said they are going to put a V8 into an S10. That is awesome. Maybe it will work the same for an Astro.
1st gen s10's are alot lighter than 3,xxx. my friend has 1 with a v8 swap with fender wells still intact that weighed in at 24xx. the older ones are really light.
they actually sell mounting kits and wiring harnesses for direct swaps, so you can stay emissions legal and all thatstuff.

man ive seen many V-8 swapped S-10's running 10's without much done to them they are daily driven at that its not that damn hard to believe

Yea, its a 355, eaglle 4340 crank, eagle connecting rods, keith black pistons (less than 9:1), crane solid 570/590 302 duration cam, edelbrock 800 carb, im selling the nitrous but it was the big shot adjustable system, i had it at 250, I have some fine tuning to do, i need to get a diveshaft cut, right now i got a 2 piece and the angle is pretty bad, the vacuum advance isnt working right at high rpms, i was saving for a weiand 177 blower but now thats changed lol, i ran a 10.98 @ 127 with nitrous, and 12.80 @ 109 without, i'll have to show you the movie of me running the quarter, i had the back too low and the bed was laying on my tires, smoke was just rolling off lol...if you have any other questions just let me know
