When I bought a Dodge Dakota years back they etched the windows, but didn't charge for it.

I wouldn't pay for either.....have them waive the fee if you decide to buy the car.

The window etching program is like an insurance policy. They etch a number on your windows, so they can identify the car if it's stolen. Basically if your car is stolen and written off, you get more money back. We etch every car where I work, but we don't charge if the customer chooses not to go with the policy. I think it's a waste of money.

As for the conveyance fee, ask them what it is, sounds like BS to me.

Tell them to shove those fees up their asses... you can get a VIN etching kit for like $10.
