which is faster, my buddy has a cobalt SS, and my other buddy has a mazda protege body but its stock turbo charged no blow off valve cuz apparently its re-circulates through the charge pipes or something i dunnoo

the Mazda speed is Slow for what it is. the ss Can easly take it. i ran one in my Chevy Vortec Blazer and took him...

While detuned significantly, and thus "weak" in power, they can hold up to just as good a thrashing as the eco can on stock block, so i'd hardly call the "weak" motors. Underpowered, sure.
Regardless of the fact that I think the Mazdaspeed is a good car, it SHOULDN'T be any match for a supercharged SS. However, the Bash was a pretty good indication of how incompetent some SS drivers are, so at the track at least, it could still be anybody's game.

Did any of the Cobalt SS SCs even crack 14's at the bash? I watched a bunch of them run at the bash but don't remember any of them pulling off a 14.

i think i saw one that was doing consistent 14.8/14.9's.... everyone else was lucky to hit mid 15's... it was really lame. I'd blame it on altitude and temp, but other cars weren't having that big of problems...

Here at S-FL's Moroso at night and about 10-20 feet above sea level they run very low 15s showroom stock. The ones that hit high 14s had some sort of work done to them.

Best I did at the bash was 14.7 @ 96 stock ,best here at home stock with better weather conditions 14.4 @ 98. Best run with psi fi kit so far 14.1 @ 102.7 not sure what the Mazda runs just though I would share for reference.
yea the cobalt ss should own it as long as you buddy isnt a complete idiot when ti comes to driving
