my girl is about to puchase a 93 del sol for about 3k

did a carfax on it and it is super clean.

car visually looks super clean.

getting a full inspection tomorrow at AAA

is there any problems i should know about that are common? or may come up in the future to watch out for?

guy said the only problem was last year it was overheating so he had the radiator replaced. but couldnt it also be the head gasket?

thanx

overheating = bad... could be thermostat, radiator gunked up, lines, water pump... all of those things were bad with my firebird

Make sure it's not leaking oil, make sure it's not burning oil badly, make sure the oil doesn't smell like gas (a little is ok, strong odor of gas is bad), and make sure there's nothing in the coolant but coolant. If you're in an area that salts the roads or otherwise has a lot of rusted Hondas check the rear quarters, around the roof, and the bottoms of the doors really closely. Also make sure the targa top doesn't leak.

Other than that you should be fine.

Yes very slow and a lack of torque haha. jk man. I actually love Hondas, and would love to be able to pick up another Civic hatch (mine died and I sold it) and fix it up and boost the crap out of it.

ok well made the transfer today. it is now my girls car.

she is very happy with it.

it has some issues with the door locks, they REALLY dont want to lock or unlock. i mean it is REALLY hard to lock and unlock them.

and then it needs coolant hoses
valve cover gasket
oil pan gasket

and it feels like a cyl is missing. so im assuming some plugs and wires to fix that.

ok i read that the engine could be missing due to o-rings/gaskets

so is this true? if so that would be great cuz she is fixing that because they are leaking, mayeb it will kill 2 birds with one stone.
car is great otherwise
