Can someone tell me what this is? Apparently, on my 05 Cobalt SS i need a new one. What are the functions of the BCM as the dealer put?

I meant to as what is a Body Control Module, not Madule.

basically the BCM controls everything that isn't the engine or transmission. it controls interior stuff, lighting, instruments, stuff like that

What about the radio? Does it control that? that is why the dealer says I need a new one as the power to the radio is not working.

Almost everything is controlled through there, headlights, interior lights, and some engine things (found that out while disabling drls and left one plug unplugged). Without a doubt the radio runs through there. Should be covered under waranty, unless you burned up that many miles already, or you screwed with it, and then the dealership has to prove thhat what you did caused the problem. Hope this helps.
