I wanted to see what you guys thought as the top sport compacts lets say street and strip

MY vote would go to

AMS evo becasue that thing is so bad ass if you havent seen it yet
PWNS
the stories about this car are great how they would take off all the decals and run the street and take down singel digit stangs. good read

and the ecko colbalt
really there is no need for explanation. gary owned nopi this year he took a straight sweep it was funny watching nopi. "and gary gardella wins......agian."

Hey JCavi, have you seen their old school talon, awd, and automatic, I saw it on the street racing a trans-am and smoked the @!#$ out of it, and then at the track it ran a 10.52, AMS has some fast ass cars.

AMS is about 15 minutes from my house actually..I had some work done on my last car there. Cool people, but I wouldn't say much to them about cars unless you're talkin dsm. But I've seen all the cars in the parking lot and they're definitely awesome..

Oh, but you might still want to be careful getting work done there. I had a header and downpipe installed there and it didn't fit quite right...So they spent a whole day working on it to put a bunch of washers between the dp and cat. Then they charged me about 600 dollars for labor since it took them so long.

"best" sport compact? Civic - and i say that only because their aftermarket is effing OUTSTANDING. they're so cheap to build now, it's ridiculous.

My Cavi. I can beat Porsche's, Lambos, and even hang with the new Bugatti as long as I give him 2 cars and the jump.

what's not to love? how's about the 4 burnt tires and the telephone pole you run into when you find out, "hey, i cant steer!"

this is the story of a telephone pole
a former tree now stuck in a hole
it holds up the lines that take our calls
and when struck by a car, the darn thing falls!
but not before smashing your car to bits
leaving a nice little dent into which it fits
that was the story of a telephone pole
a former tree, now stuck in a hole.

Andy

it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.
ZZP XP cam, 1.6 rockers, 105# springs, speedbuilt FWI, 3.3" modular pulley, TOG headers,
3" exhaust, flomatched injectors

Lotus Elise

Not only does it handle uber well...but you buy the ForceFed turbo kit, and you get the same power to weight ratio as a McLaren F1

i say VW old-school beetle. The best selling car of all time, has a HUGE aftermarket, easy to work on, only weighs about 1600 lbs, and you can name just about any engine, and there's an adapter plate to make it fit. Oh, yeah, RWD!!

You should see the Bugs here in Germany

Most run 11s!! A few are running 10s!! It's unreal to see one of these things dust an old muscle car!! I have video somewhere of a bug and a 70 Chevelle...of course the Bug dusted it!!

I'll see if I can find it!

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

Does the Nissan 300ZX TT count?

I've had the pleasure of working on a few. In their prime, they were practically the best around and insanely advanced. Furiously quick, too.

Sport Compact Scene = Grocery Getter Econo-Box Scene.

The Evo isnt a sport compact.
