All Terrain Tires

I know there's a ton of Jeep owners/off-road people on this board, so I hope there's a pretty good knowledge base for this question. Getting ready to buy tires for my younger brother's 4X4 Yukon. Does some moderate off-road driving to ATV/dirt bike tracks, but does a lot of transport/commuter type stuff too. The on-road driving means any dedicated mud tire/Super Swampers are out of the question. I've basically narrowed it down to two options: Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos or BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KOs.

So far, I'm leaning towards the Revos; their tread pattern looks awesome and personal reviews from people say that they're a great all around tire. However, I know that the KOs are highly, highly popular among specifically the Jeep crowd.

Any experiences, positive or negative, with either tire?

I've already wrote you back about the BFGoodrich but I post saying that I like them. I have ran mine into the ground and there is still enough tread left to not worry for a while.

Also, if you feel like considering another all terrain tire. Check out the Interco TrXus STS. They have a crazy looking tread pattern and are a good all-terrain tire. My girlfriends dad is running them on his Jeep and enjoys them so far. I also met a guy driving a Rubicon with the same tires and say they perform fairly well on the rocks and tear up the sand like none other.

Have a good one,

Yup...here it is:

"A lot of it has to do with past experience from other owners of those tires. They love the tires because it gives them a good all season tire. You can use them for long treks to and from work with little to no road noise and then if you want to hit up a trail afterwards they will grip on rocks and go through mud fairly well.

With reading all the feedback from previous owners, new comers go out and buy them and have similar experiences. I have had mine for about 50,000+ miles and I have been happy on how they are wearing down and still can off-road fairly well with the tread lose.

I guess you can say in the end that it is a great overall tire for the truck owner that has a daily driver but like to play on the trails from time to time. Now if they would off-road more than often, then I definitely would recommend the BFG Mud-Terrain. Those tires get just as much praise as the All Terrains."

Have a good one,
Justin

The Revos have good reviews on Tirerack. I would put some on my Explorer, if I had a fatter wallet.

The Revo's are a nicer tire. The BFG's cup easier but may be slightly better off-road. The revo's are quieter on the road and also have good treadwear, the ones on my mom's truck had 16000 on them when we sold it and looked brand new.

i have 32x12.50 BFG AT Ko's on my yj wrangler and I think they are a pretty good middle of the road tire. They look good, aren't too loud on the highway and dont shake at all and still perform relatively well offroad and in the snow...on rocks they are really quite good
