Don't be fooled by the concept title of this Civic, Honda already announced plans to put it in showrooms by fall. This marks the first ever SI sedan from Honda. Powering the SI is a 197-horsepower, 16-valve, DOHC i-VTEC engine with an 8,000 rpm redline, mated to a close-ratio, 6-speed manual transmission. A limited-slip differential helps drivers make good use of that power.
The 2006 Civic Si coupe went on sale in mid December, and the model is sold out through May, said John Mendel, senior vice president for American Honda Motor Co.
Mendel said Honda expects the Si sedan to appeal to enthusiasts who are slightly older than Si coupe buyers. He would not say how many Si sedans Honda plans to build, or where it will be produced.
The concept was equipped with 18-inch wheels and Brembo brakes with drill brake rotors. Those features won’t be on the production Si sedan, but a version of the concept’s decklid-mounted wing will be standard.

I love it, very nice indeed

So ditch the safety stuff, and add a tacky spoiler.. Way to go Honda..
Red 2005 Saturn Ion-3 Coupe
Burgundy 2006 Saturn Ion - My winter beater
i dont think the wing really matches the style of the tails to be honest
im also not a fan of 7 spoke wheels, they just look odd to me
ive seen a couple sedans around now, and they look ok, but nothing to get excited over imo
but again, its still a quality product
Wow Saturn is putting out an Ion Redline sedan, pretty cool. Is still ugly as sin though. Wait thats the new Civic SI Sedan? Great, still ugly as sin but now with less torque for more money. Ah doesn't matter it has an H on the hood, if they can sucker people into buying the Aztec-like Element they'll surely buy this too.

i love it. but why didn't they change that totally bland and ugly front bumper. this car needs the coupes front bumper

Yes, but the canadian si-r was equivalent to the american Si, and we never had an Si-R sedan in canada.

No thats not the "real" Si, Canada's Si's are mearly nothing but our EX. Canada's SiR is our Si
eh, the new civic 4-doors don't do much for me. give me the coupe (and higher insurance premium)
I had my doubts about the new SIs when they came out, but Ive seen a few in person and I love them. Im indifferent on this, becuase I like the new SIs, but not really sure how they can make the sedan look... either way though, it probably would be a fun car to drive.
Now its time for a cobalt ss sedan!
Um... icky. I am really not a fan of the new Civic.

Something like 13 less horsepower, and 40 less torque. But let us remember, the K20 is N/A and is backed by a close ratio 6 speed and LSD. And it runs extremely close 1/4 mile speeds to a RL or SS/SC (I can't remember how much slower or faster, but it's close). Factor in a way better interior, Honda build quality and (I believe) better handling than an SS/RL, and it's cheaper (again, IIRC) too.
Why so much Honda hate? I pride myself on being non-brand loyal, and it's stuff like your post that kinda tick me off.
PS: I like the Aztec. But I hate the Element.
I am non brand loyal. But I do really really hate these Hondas. They are so ugly and wierd. It's Acura for me.

Acura is nothing but a rebadged Honda
^^^^ I know that. I meant I am non brand loyal, so it's not that I have something against Honda, I just happen to dislike the Honda products, but I love the Acura stuff.
not bad but its still a civic lol
I like it. Im sure it wont be cheap either. Not bad but I think I would go with the 2 door option if I had the choice and the $$$$$.

That's great. Now I have a more affordable option that lets me keep my sport but has 4 doors for the munchkin. I'm all for it...

I think you may be wrong about the Honda outhandling the Redline. The Acura came in last place in a test I read between the SRT4/ACR, ION RL, Cobalt SS/SC,WRX,& RSX. Redline was 2nd, a hair behind the made for track srt4/acr.
^^^^He is probably talking about the Civic SI coupe....not the RSX.
^ ^ the difference between the 2 are negligible, Rsx has 10hp more but no LSD. I bet they run the same on the track.
