Another one bites the dust....
Saturday, February 04, 2006 6:17 PM
Well today I woke up needing to get the Cavalier inspected and no one around here could or was willing to do it today, so I decided to get rid of the car and I bought a Colbalt SS SuperCharged.

I got an great deal on the trade and the pruchase of the Colbalt. I got 1500.00 for the Cav and bought the Colbalt for just under 16,500 with tax and such, just over 17K out the door. I really have no idea why I got rid of the Cav it has treated me great for the past 4 years. Never had a major problem excpt breaking the shifter cables.

I need to get used to the clutch on it, but what a fun car to drive. Very quite on the road, takes bumps pretty good. It fully loaded except heated seats and On-Star. Black with Black and Red interior.

I was sorry to see the Cav go, but I am happy I got the SS/SC.

From what the dealer told me. they might put the car on Ebay and see if it sells there or they are going to wholesale it what ever that means.

wholesale it means they don't want to deal with selling it. or it's a pile they can't sell on the lot.

but congrats on the ss balt

so you were going for a new inspection on the cavy, and wound up getting a new inspection sticker....it just happened to be on a different car......nice

reminds me of when i was getting some repair parts for my grand am...and decided to look at the chevy dealership..well long story short, my repair parts involved lots of paperwork and this big blue part with 4 wheels

it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.

Reminds me of when I bought my Ram. I went to the dealership to buy power steering fluid, and drove off the lot in a brand new Ram.

Congratulations on the new ride, and goodluck with it.

Thanks guys, so far this is a great ride. I have people stopping all the time asking me about the car. I'm just a little nervous leaving it at the bus depot while I go to work. I think I need to get some sort of security system for it.

A little while ago, while I was getting gas this guy in a WRX was talking to me about it and he said that there are a lot of upgrade parts coming out for it to make it faster. His car is all decked out and he said that he has raced one, the guy he raced just had exhaust on his SS/SC and he was just able to beat it by a car length or so. That made me pretty happy, he spent 32K on his car and tons of upgrade parts as was only able to be an SS/SC by a car length or so. Thats good news for the Colbalt's I guess.

a guy i know dynoe'd one at 215 to the wheels brand new. smaler pulley catback, and intake, a tune, and larger injectors (maybe a few more things) and they've hit 275. i believe there's a thread somewhere in here about it. INTENSE is the company that sponsors it, i believe.

still a good deal IMO. i hope it treats you as good as the cav did.
i wish i could get mine inspected, and come out with a new car.
hmmmmmmmmmm i might have to go get a "part" from the dealer on Monday.

But does your Cav have 168,000 miles on it and the paint in not so good condition? My Cav needed a new paint job. I used to drive 200 miles a day back and forth to work so the body got pretty beat up with paint chips and little dings here and there. now I am taking the bus to work.

Dunno about other parts of Canada, but in my area a Cobalt SS Supercharged will go for $27,000 +.. Same for the Ion Redline. My Ion-3 cost $22,500.. My 06 Ion-2 cost 20,000.. I hate how we pay so much for cheap cars.
