I have wondered for a long time why more people dont build diesels. Diesel is the way of the future, not hydrogen. Diesel can be made from most anything, corn, soy beans, fat, anything. It would be easy to make our own diesel fuel here in the states using our agriculture to eliminate dependency on foreign oil. Diesel is already at pumps so nothing would have to change there. GM FORD....Im talking to you....check out VW and their non hybrid TDI that gets over 50 mpg in a mid size car....couple this with a hybrid type drivetrain, and get even more without funky looks. DO IT!

With direct injection and no spark plugs you can run HUUUUGE boost because you dont have to worry about preignition. There are really no down sides to a diesel. They make great power, are efficient and usually bullet proof. I guess this is why Im putting a diesel into a street rod truck.

^^N-A is the only continent where diesel is not popular for cars. Go else where and you'll see diesel options for each car model. Heck, even Jaguar is talking in putting one in too.
Diesel has such a future too and from what I'm hearing the Blue-Tec technology on Benzs will make them super clean too (SULEV).

As for this R10, I am so waiting on Sebring to see them, I wonder if it will have that familiar diesel chatter on idle? lol

Peugeot the leader in diesels, wants to run on next year's Le-Mans up against the R10 and yes it will be diesel too.
