Hey I hope someone knows how to help... I havent tried any SI forums or anything like that becuase I dont know of any really for the CRX and believe its just a general car question..
I am looking for a DD while I get some things done to the Z and I have about 800 bucks with my tax check..
I am thinking about buying an 87 CRX SI in pretty decent shape on outside.. just said the clutch seems to be going bad and its leaking some tranny fluid but not bad.. and due to the clutch in 2nd gear if you arent accelerating it will pop out of gear.
and a $15 valve cover gasket.. thats about all thats wrong with it.. like I said it looks good on th inside and is pretty clean.. outiside neds a side skirt and could use a fender but not really messed up..
I can get the car for 650 bucks.. maybe talk him down even lower..
Do you guys think it would cost a lot to repair or maybe with 400 bucks I can get all the problems fixed...
I am not very good at looking a cars and knowing what it needs.. but he has kept it in very clean shape and my dad is gonna drive it friday for me, but want to make sure im not making a huge mess for myself, but its exactly the kinda car I want for a DD and seems to be ok.. but wanted to know if anyone thnks its a good deal..

i say go for it .. i love honda crx's .. i am looking for one right now too to be honest.. i say talk him down to maybe 550 or so and buy a stage 1 performance clutch since nothings done to it for about 200 i guess and replace the gasket and all and u should have urself a nice little quick car .. if i lived where u live i would buy it .. but oh well ..
it looks to be in good shape for what it is. i cant really help you much on that year crx as i dont have experience with that model. but if they are anything like the newer ones they are very good cars that would work very well as a DD.

its a honda, so it should be easy to fix...not as easy to work on as a cavalier is, but still easy. $500 is reasonable for the condition of the vehicle, and how many miles are on it. if u need to know anything about it, i have a friend who is obsessed with hondas...the CRX in particular...so just email me or IM me (AIM= ka24dealtima94, email= cavalier1688@hotmail.com) and ill ask him for ya.

I'd go for it, I'd LOVE a CRX and especially an SI. Hondas are easy to fix, visit honda-acura.net for some help.
When I bought my cavalier the parkign brake didnt work and it turned out the brakes were all toast, so might wanna check that.
Hey is that the dude from rickers? Hell i will sell you mine for that,it has a monster port job on the head and intake, custom made header and cutom made exhaust. it needs a new radiator and a clutch and i have the clutch in a box out in my barn. its red and has skatebaord stickers all over it. not sure how many miles are on it. and for the world cheapest car it actually goes pretty good. Shoot me an email and i may be able to cut you a good deal
