Rat Rods/ Buckets/ Customs

So how many orgies here have any of the forementioned in the title. I fequently read
Ol' skool RODZ and love this mag. I am thinking of seling the 86 box coupe and getting an early 30's 40's car or truck as my next project.

Anybody got pics of their rodz?

I have been reading Custom Rodder lately. I love 40s - 50s era cars chopped and sectioned. No experience though inanything in being able to make one. One day though.

I love old school rods, they look great. I'd like to have an old Willy's in a flat color with pin stripe flames and either an AMC 360 or 401 or SBC.

I have a 34 plymouth 4 door sedan. it has a 5 inch chop. all the doors are suicide from the factory. mustang 2 front suspension and later model corvette rear suspension. the engine is a small block 318. I bought it 6 months ago at the goodguys show up in colombus and I finnaly heard it run tonight. the sad th9ing is I'm not going rat rod with this it's going to be an all-out pained street-rod. My mom's boyfriend has a 49' merc and he's teaching me how to build street rods. no pictures right now someday though

I remember when i first signed up on the org and i checked out your profile and saw your cars. I like it. any new plans for it.

I am thinking of getting a 27-35 ford if i can find one for a decent amount of cash but i have to finish the cav first.

Well, I just got my christams present to myself yesterday, lol. My order from Summitracing came in and in the box was a battery relocation kit, and complete fuel system with electric pump. The '52 hasn't had an engine in it for about a year now, because I've been working too much and haven't had much spare time. But the 350 that's going in it has been waiting all that time and I only have a couple small things to get to finish the job. Motor mounts are made, trans adapter is finished, firewall is modified. I can't wait to fire it up. It's gonna be a sick ride even all motor, and once I get the chassis sorted out to the point where the car doesn't scare the hell out of me anymore, then I'll add more power until it scares me again, lol. Right now the 350 is a decent combo of parts. It's bored out .030 over, but nothing too trick about the bottom end, then it's topped with fuelie heads, and Edelbrock RPM intake and cam combo, and a holley 750 double pumper carb. I'm running shorty headers because frame clearance is virtually nill, which is also why I needed an elecric fuel pump.

I bought the motor off a guy who had it in a 1st gen Camaro that ran mid 13's on street tires with a TH350 auto trans. That car weighs about 3600 lbs. Mine weighs 3100 lbs and has a manual trans, it should rock out pretty good just on the motor, but you know I just HAVE to install a nitrous kit, right? 200 extra hp should be enough to make me go out and buy some firestone wide white slicks, lol.

lol Nice when and if you ever decide to dyno the chevy I am curious to see what is would do.......

and yes nitrous is the answer......I love it and most likley will put it on my next car as well.
I have 2 305 blocks laying around and thought of doing a 305-340 stroker with juice or a wieland 142 mini blower, if i get a rod, mainly just to be differant, but I recently learned that chevy will be releasing a new performance cast iron head. It will be under the "vortec " name but will be able to actcept both vortec and tradition intake manifolds and outflows alot of higher buck aluminum heads. So when i get around to it I'm shure it will be fun....plus no one in my area races a rat, so no one will know what to expect. lol

There's also the Ol' Skool Rodz forums but most of those guys are clowns. Good for a laugh but not information.

Old skool Rodz is a great magazine. I get it every month.
I'm currently building a Rat Rod Sled. Its a 57 Fairlane (in the sig).
I havnt had time to work on it but I might be aquiring a Chevy 350 small block soon.
If I dont put it in the Ford I might find myself something else to throw it in.

Hey Nitro: are there any stolen parts in the chevy? A true rat rod has at least one stolen part
