OK i can get my hands on a 96 contour for 350, running. I know they changed headlights and tail lights in 98-00. are these interchangeable? can i install the newer headlights on the older model by changing the hood/bumper/fenders? I think the tails are the same though, im not sure on that. oh yea, i tried contour.org and coudnt find anything in their faq or searching thruogh the forums. thanks beforehand

i have always wondered this myself as im looking at a 95
the sides of the cars are pretty much identical through the years
but you would hafta ask on some place like contour.org or another site that would have more contour info
i also wondered if you could swap out the trunk for a newer one too, wasnt sure if the outers were swappable, something else to also look into perhaps
the pre 98 trunk lid is better than the post 98 trunk lid if u do this
or like this without molding the tails

i believe its completely interchangable. check your bolt up points and then get your hands on a tailight and compare odds are i bet they would fit

^^ thanks alot for the help. but thats the problem, alot of people have said that they THINK its possible, but i havent heard anyoe be completely sure. i dont wanna go out and buy the headlights, fenders and hood and find out it doesnt work! i also heard someone say that the hood and fenders will bolt up, but that he THINKS the bumper support and radiator support are different, and the radiator itself, so the headlights wont fit in there.... i hope someone can come up with a definite answer, if not ill just keep the older style headlights.
why even bother on a 350 dolla beater
just throw some altezzas at it and call it a day
^ i dont think they even make altezzas lol its gonna be my beater, but i plan on getting it a body kit and rims in 2 weeks, i get it next week. I dont really like driving stock cars lol since I wont be driving my cav anymore, only to and from shows, this is gonna be my daily driver, not a beater. so i wanna make it look nice.
I would stick with the pre 98 head lights. The post 98 headlights tend to haze. If you want clear tails all you have to do is crack the red lense. Under the red lense is a clear lens. Here are my pics of my contour. IF you have any question just email me.

i've always kinda liked the tails...
the older ones tend to haze too, i think contours had "eyes" or somethin lol
actually now that i think about it, I like the stock pre-98 tails, with the molded license plate frame, i think it looks real clean. the headlights, err... i dont really like em, but i guess ill just keep em and open em up and paint them body color, like we do with the 03 cavs, if its possible.
