[quote=97cavie24ls(JDM&00s/c sedans™)]there has been several post about this before

I checked, and there was nothing posted about the mallett version of the Solstice. Actually, the only on that was posted, was the one where some guy saq a "pimped" out pontiac, and somebody mentioned it there, but nothing really developed.

Why is it a waste of a car ? I think it is the best bang for the buck for sports car.

Right now Mallet is working on a new Project to put in a LS7
That project should be done by the end of JAN.

If there was a LS6 ... im sure there would be trackion issues. And acording to the article, it beats a C6 in the 1/4 mile.

The LS2 only has "5" less hp than the LS6, why would you say that motor would be better?

if u want a v8 buy one dont put a v8 into a car thats meant to be awesome handling car and destroy its intended purpose. besides anything other then the stock ls2 (s/c turbo or a ton of na mods) and the thing would probably tear itself apart.

its like taking a hybrid and putting a 454 BBC in it.

Oh ok. I thought you just meant the Solstice it self was a waste of a car. I am with you on that one. A super charger will do this car well. The company's I have been talking to for a super charger dont know if they want to make one yet. Turbo is prett easy to do if you want to run low PSI. N/A will cost you an arm and a leg. But it can be done.

The LS2 doesn't even throw off the weight distribution of the car.

I still say LS6 > LS2.
The LS2 is basicly a bored LS6. And yet the LS6 still makes a couple more ponies.
LS2 and LS6 use the same heads, not sure about cam specs though.

I say the LS9 coming out that puts down over 600+ with the Supercharger on it.

thats a lot of money for an upgrade, but at the same time thats a lot of power for a tiny car. Id rather buy a C6 and save a lil money, but Id drive taht thing any day

There's a few companies that have been shoe-horning in 5.0/4.6 fords into Miatas...

And I've seen 3-4 posts about the Mallet Solstice... I don't know if they're the only group that does the conversion, but they're the ones that have been posted more often than not on this forum

how is it destroying the car's intended purpose when it has 52/48 weight distribution with a full tank of gas? it even says the car shines when you put cones in front of it...

i think it'd be a fun car and one hell of a sleeper to boot. then again, the 7.0 supercharged mentioned at the end of the article is just plain sick.

I'm sure Lenko would too... that's not a good thing.

I don't know for sure, but I don't think the car becomes that much more unbalanced with the driver in it after the v8 swap. I could be wrong, but aren't the LSx's aluminum blocks?

Mallett made it so that a 200 pound driver makes the car 50/50 distribution.
And yes...the LSx motors are aluminum.
