Hey guys, I'm stumped here. I just replaced the tranny in my 1991 Eagle Talon N/T. Everything was fine the lights went on radio worked checked all that good stuff. Pushed in the clutch and tried to start it it clicked then went dead. Nothing no headlights, dashlights, radio, interrior lights you get the point. I check all the fuses in the fuse box and it all looks good. I checked the IGN fuse in the engine bay and it looked good.
Yes the battery is connected. Anyone have any ideas? Please, I need help this car is suppose to be driving tomorrow.
sounds like a stupid idea but did you check all of your grounds? I had that same kind of problem a little while ago and it was ground that went from the battery to the frame... the wire connection broke and was only making contact sometimes... may not work but good to eleminate problems anyway...
Bah, thanks for making me feel dumb, lol. I must have needed a break or something. I went out and traced my ground wire and it was exactly what you said. Just touching so it only got connection sometimes. When I did a quick look over the vehicle I missed it because it was sitting perfect against the block.
Oh well astleast I got it to run. Thanks a lot man.
lol i missed the same thing on my first tranny swap, i also forgot to ground the starter lol. oh well, you wont make the mistake again! but unfortunetly since you have a dsm youll have the opertunity to do another tranny swap lol
