Hey everyone. I know some of you picked up Scion tC's. So I have a question:
I was wondering what you all paid for you Scion tC? What options did you get and how much did they charge for them? Any room at all to haggle? Everytime I try to get anywhere, they cockblock me wiht "pure price" bs (even though their Pure Price is 2K over their invoice.

Got mine Saturday and never thought about price haggling because i knew it wouldnt happen. But i did find out i get a small emloyee discount on the car, but i didnt get it at the dealership. I have to pay the sticker price and then get refunded at most 7.5%. Not sure how much its going to be tho

you have to work into a car dealership with some balls and not be afraid to put your foot down about stuff.
when they tell you pure price be like @!#$ that im leaving, im sure they will forget about there pure price real quick.

borsty go to any scion dealership and try to haggle a tC price down... you wont walk away with anything less then sticker price, and if u tell them they lost a sell then they'll think fine a rich kid will come in and have daddy buy it for him.
i think i ended up paying 16500 tC - 5000 trade in - 500 deposit = $11,000 (not including tax and crap)

See therein lies the problem. These cars are too hot right now that if I don't pick one up, someone is right behind me waiting in line. However, I talked to a guy yesterday trying to get 19,400 for an 06 with Leather and Sidecurtain airbags, and that seemed a bit steep considering invoice on all of this is under 17,000. I don't mind paying 19,400 for a car, but for a few thousand more, there are much better options out there.
I'm also sketchy about some of them b/c I have yet to get the same MSRP from multiple dealers witin 200 miles, and yet somehow I should still drive 3 hours for their car?

That was in the 90's when Saturn was well... "Saturn." Ever since they brought out those rebates for them, it kinda defeated the purpose of the "no haggle" slogan.
Now Saturn back in the days, they used to give you a better price on your trade-in. Let say your car was worth book value $5K, Saturn would give you $1-2K more. If you are trading, you may want to check that.

well the resale price of a tC is a almost 2gs more then a new one on kbb but he must have had the leather custom b/c u cant get the tC in leather....unless that has changed.. but dont buy a used one get a new one. and if ur wanting to pay 19,400 get a new one at base model and by the accessories seporate ull still pay a lot less and get more for ur money...hell buy base model and get the SC for it
Leather is a dealer option that they charge somewhere around 2G to add on, thats why that price is high.
You are better buying a base model one, and adding what you want
Also, if there is anything you want to add that you feel you can do yourself, you can usually spend half as much and get it on ebay or at trdsparks.com
Trade in value of crappy 96 cavalier = @!#$. I'll park it in front of a highschool first. If that doesn't work, I may part the entire vehicle out instead... I'll get something out of it that way.

) = $1400 from dealer (not factory installed). I'm thinking I'll forego this for now... maybe keep my eye on eBay for a bit... especially since I don't think they are heated
The 19000+ was the 600 for the side curtain airbags, leather, and then the 1000+ in dealer/documentation fees (the destination fees are included in their MSRP supposedly).
Even without any options, I am still looking at around 18K out the door for a car that is marketed for under 17K
(I know it's only $1000, but that's not my point here). My point is that if Pure Pricing is so great, why am I still paying $2500 over invoice prices. I can do that anywhere. I know I can't haggle the MSRP, but I was hoping to knock off some dealer fees and whatnot if possible. That's why I wanted to get ideas of what other people paid (after everything) to get into one of these.

yeah, borsty, i tried your @!#$ that and start to walk out and wait for them to forget there pure pricing, they cant, they get audited all the time, there not ganna lose there jobs because you wanna pay less, in the case of scions, they cant do anything if they wanted
RIght, they are priced the same for everyone. The problem is too that those cars are hot!
Ill give you an example
I wanted the Red Release Series tC. I called all of the Scions dealers in Ohio, one I called said that they had just ordered a Red Manual, and if i wanted it if i put a deposit down I could get dibs on it. I came next day and put one on. When i picked it up, 2 1/2 weeks later, i was talking to one of the daughters of the owner there, who is head of the scion side. She said that from the day i put my deposit down and the day i picked it up, over 30 people that just SHE was aware of had called about that particular car. She said someone from Tennessee had called her and had wanted it. Thats how popular the tC's are
And seriously, even for 18K its a steal. I love mine to death

Well, I'm going to test drive one tomorrow... I'm still hesitant to buy b/c I wanted to get other bills down first so I could get a better APR (not to mention less in bills). I'm just getting sick and tired of my cavalier so hopefully nothing goes wrong in the next day that will have me wanting to leave the lot with the car.
I shouldn't have test drove that thing... I hate my cavalier. I want the tC right now!

haha... I just have to decide if I want to get one this week, or wait until the end of January.
I test drove a TC and really loved the car. In the end I bought a super low mileage 04' SRT-4 fully loaded and upgraded with stage 1, lowered, Mopar short shifter for $16,500.00. Don't get me wrong. I still like the Tc, but I feel I got a whole lot more car for what is about the starting price of the Tc. The SRT is awesome, but I'am sure I would have loved the Tc had I bought one of those.
