Might have to replace the switch on the dash werer you switch between gears. I have had it happen to one of my customers shortly after they purchased a blazer from me, except that they couldn't get into 4 wheel drive at all. The light would blink and then not switch over at all. That might work, and it is not that expensive, compared to replacing the entire 4 wheel drive set up.

Hey, sorry to steal your thread Nate, but on my friend's 99 trail blazer none of the lights come on! and nothing happens when the buttons are pushed. I told him it might be the Switch. You guys think that's what it is? sorry for not starting another thread!!!

My dad had a similar problem on his 98 Chevy S-10 only he couldn't engage 4x4. He was planning on taking the truck to a repair shop so they could fix it. I was installing a CD deck in his truck one day and had to disengage the switch for his 4x4 so I could move the dash plastic around so I could work. When I plugged the switch back in to the button his 4x4 mode was fixed. Maybe you could try that before dropping alot of money on a repair?

Blown.

Yeah, the switches on the push-button cases are @!#$. Same thing happens to my parents '99 Silverado.

its probabily the motor on the transfer case itself, I had the same thing happen on mine I picked one up on ebay for about 40. Those are nitorous for the motors going bad.

Either the switch, solenoid or motor is the problem. My guess is the switch as said earlier, if it isn't the switch then the next thing would be the solenoid.

Yella02-I promise I will return to you in one piece and this will stay up until I am safely home
