Well I just got back from the chevy dealership. I test drove a silver 2006 SS/SC with the black and red leather seats, side air bags, xm ect. It did not have the lsd. I was not impressed to much at all. Power gets there nice but doesn't feel as strong as I thought it would. I know I would lose to it in a drag race but I don't feel that the top end power was much better than mine. Bottem end is nice, builds to full boost pretty quick. Interior was just nasty other than the seats. I like the SRT-4 much better and I don't think the SS/SC is worth the money. Anyone else feel this way that has driven one?

yeah i'd say the power is smooth and numb like the SRT-4. As much as i love mine....i sometimes swear it accelerates slower than my Z24. I know it's not. I think the power is delivered so smooth you don't realize it's moving that quick. I was satisfied enough to buy one, but think there is serious room for improvment

yes , most of the guys here in phx run mid to high 14's , and some are still in the 15's trying to learn how to drive them
the DBW system is very odd to drive , let alone race
also the dealers usually put 87 octane in them when they need 91, which cuts the power down , also it take a couple thousand miles for the eco's to break in nicely
some of the ion redlines with mods have been running low 14's
Hmm to bad I am like 3g's upside down on my car. I don't want $500+ payments and my insurance will go up $600 every 6 months.

Blame it on the 3000lbs curb weight.

Just about everything he said is true.. I test drove an 05 redline, and noticed the same thing.. It only had 200km's on it in total.. I asked the dealer what kind of gas is in the tank. He said all cars come shipped with 87 octane. So those 2 things there were probably why it felt a little sluggish..
