Some of you may remember the post about the prototype cars my Dad and I received. Well, we got his running. He doesn't know yet though.
Here is the story.
My Dad dresses up as Santa every year and goes to visit kids in his neighborhood. And the his employees kids. Every year he uses this gheto golf cart with christmas lights on it that he calls his sleigh. So, my brother and I tracked down some batteries and got this thing setup, then I put some graphics on it and an underbody light kit. Now we are giving it to him tomorrow as an early Christmas present for all he does for the kids. He doesn't know about it, and to throw him off the trail, my brother talked to him today and told him that when we ran some power to it the whole underside started glowing bright red!
He said "Whoah, that can't be good!" so he has no idea.
This is what we will be delivering to his house tomorrow night. I just got done cruising the neighborhood and checking the range. I went about 7 miles and it still has plenty of juice left. we should be able to get about 20 miles out of a charge... maybe more.
(Just so you all know this is an NEV (Neighborhood Electric Vehicle), electronically governed at 25 mph and designed for use in neighborhoods... so save the remarks about not being practical on the freeway, etc...) Let me remind you this is a one of a kind. This is the only one in this country. There is one more in europe at the testing facility, but the project was scrapped, so it may have been destroyed. You won't see another one like this!

Definately one-of-a-kind. It sounds pretty cool that he does that for the kids. I'm sure he'll be surprised with the underglow.
That'd be freaking sweet to just go riding around in that thing and having your dad dressed up as Santa would just be hilarious. Get some pictures of it!

Two wrongs don't make a right. Unless you're Chuck Norris.
Then two wrongs make a roundhouse kick to the face.
Looks pretty awsome. Would have liked to have seen red and green neons but just the red looks nice.

Green was sold out. Streetbeatcustoms.com is a local shop downtown. I went there and the green was sold out. So we went with red. I thought it worked because the car was green.
Well, we delivered it tonight. He was speechless. He just got back from being out of town and the first thing he said to my mom was about how disapointed he was that the car didn't work.
So when we drove up out front he didn't know what to say! He thanked us over and over again and was so excited. He jumped in and took off, I called him about 20 minutes later (to see if he broke down or somthing) and he said he was just joy-riding. He said it was the best thing that could have happened to him right now (he has been dealing with some crap at work, and some health issues).
I will get some pics with Santa in it here soon. I will post them up!
