'95 blazer CMFI

ok, so my friends been wanting to boost his '05 blazer for a while now. he really wants to go roots style, and we've started really thinkin about it. looking into manifolds we could use, compression changes, head changes, ect. last night i got another blower (M90 off ebay for $126. it'll get ported, polished, and panted, then put on my GTP) so i'll have an extra, which will bring us that much closer to actually boosting the blazer. he was looking at the injection last night, though. it's got the CMFI with vortec heads and a funky intake. how does the CMFI work? im completly blazer retarded, im use to multi port stuff with computers that can handle extra tuning. does it just have one injector with multiple outputs? and how hard would it be to switch to the newer style injection on the newer 4.3's? thanks for any help guys.

my opinion would be to pick up a syclone motor and comp. itll be alot easier. the 95 is the last year before the restyle right? if so it would be a direct swap.

The 95 was the first year of the redesign, and the second year for the S-10 pick-up

yeah, '95's the first year of the redesign. and he doesnt want to go turbo, everyone either goes turbo or 350, he wants something unique that will still haul ass. does the cyclone have lower compression pistons/heads? im assuming it does, as it's a factory boosted vehicle. might look into that. but right now we're trying to get the top end together. we're going to get a carb'd intake, then put the fuel injection into that. we're going to put the supercharger on the top of that. dunno how yet, some type of adapter plate. plus an intercooler. air to liquid, probably a GTP one, since i know where to get them, and it's bolting up to an m90 anyway. did some research and found out that GM's CMFI is like a mix between throttle body injectin and multi-port. it's got one injector that continuously pumps fuel to the ports. any idea how that would run in a boosted application? im guessing not too well, but im interested in others opinions. and would that system be able to handle the extra fueling needed? i was thinking maybe put a second injector in, so have two injectors, two sets of lines going to the ports, and two injection points in the ports, so you can get twice as much fuel in. then just hook one of the wires up to the same switch we're going to use for the BBV, so when it starts pumping boost in, the other injector kicks in. or possibly have it throttle controlled. after 60-70% throttle the second injector kicks in. just a though. damn this is a long post.

95 was the last year for the CPI 4.3's

the multi-port showed up in 96

but both set-ups have the injectors with the same ends on them , and the injectors are inside the plenium

so your pretty much screwed either way

well that simply wont do. haha. we've got a friend that builds custom race engines, who also fabricates his own fuel injection systems. we're gonna talk to him, but probably not have him do it. they're way way way too expensive. we're looking at an adjustable ignition method as well, as the 4.3 works with a distributor
